WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Justice Department says it is looking into the shooting death of Trayvon Martin to determine whether federal prosecutors should file criminal civil rights charges now that George Zimmerman has been acquitted in the state case.

in my county st Augustine st johns county FL we are one of the most republican counties in the state and we have quite a few confederate flags but one guy has a white van with a massive confederate flag painted on the side and big letters saying feds out of Dixie

Technically, anyone who is slain has had their civil right to life violated, this is clearly unconstitutional.

I am so disappointed in how the US has changed. To me, the US used to be a land that I wished my homeland was more like. A land where, with honesty and hard work, all could succeed. Unfortunately, for many, it has become a land of ‘entitlement’, where many feel that they are ‘owed’ just because they are drawing breath.
When I was a teenager, I would misguidedly give the ‘Pierre Trudeau’ middle finger salute when O Canada was played! My protest was not against my country, but against a government that did not stand for the ideals that I grew up with, those of freedom, democracy and respect for Her Majesty, the Queen of the Dominion.
I looked to the States as the principal ‘protector’ of the values of freedom and democracy and Trudeau as a communist threat to Canada. My distrust and dislike of the man was such that I chose to decline an opportunity to attend RMC (Royal Military College - Canada’s equivalent of West Point/Anapolis/USAFA) in Kingston, ON because I believed that if a shooting war broke out between the West and the USSR, Trudeau would side with the Soviets, against the West! Don’t misunderstand; in case of an American invasion, I would not have hesitated in fighting against Americans to defend my country, but I certainly was not prepared to shoot at Americans if we sided with the Soviets!
It is only since we voted Stephen Harper into office as Prime Minister and America voted Hussein Obama in as President, that I am now proud to be a Canadian and do not desire to be an American. I pray that the people of the US and Canada humble themselves and turn back to the Lord! Unfortunately, I think that will take a catastrophe that will make 9/11 look like a Saturday picnic.
If they do turn back to God, I believe that Mr. Harper will be re-elected and that Hussein and his ilk will be soon tossed out, and perhaps facing prison for treason. I also pray that the Democratic Party in the US and the Liberals in Canada return to their roots, rather than the quasi-socialists that many currently are.
Mr. Zimmerman is the one who should file civil rights charges here. He’s the “Cracker”. He’s the one who was labeled as the white Hispanic. He was called a “self described” Hispanic. Trevon was assiociated with the President’s gene pool.
I say “Make a mockery of these liberals. They’ve painted themselves into a corner. Let them keep digging their hole! Their hipocracy will become plain as day. And stuff. “
They already looked into this and found nothing, but the verdict doesn't go their way and they're investigating again? And for the millionth time where are the Republicans to say “stop or else we'll investigate the DOJ’s involvement in this case”
An American citizen has just been acquitted and was already investigated by the Feds. Case closed. Time for these childish, coddled, hissy fit throwing blacks deal with it, and move onto other things. It's over, let it go.

He was required to give up his passport as a bond condition.
Having been acquitted of the crime, all of those conditions are essentially immediately reversed. In theory.

If I was from a black family in Chicago who lost a child due to black violence, I’d really be ticked off that not one of those black teens murdered by other blacks, registers any concern in the media or by the race hustlers (you know who they are), or by politicians, or by the White House. Those killed don’t even warrant a yawn.

It’s the dept. that needs investigating what with all the stirring of the pot they’ve done and ruining this man’s life.
We’re not talking about STALKING which is a repeated pattern of unwanted attention type following, and is the type of following that is illegal.
Also, stalkers don’t call 911 or let the police know where to meet them.

The FBI already conducted one investigation and concluded TM’s civil rights were not violated.
Given that George Zimmerman has been found not guilty, by a jury of his peers, this new investigation can’t possibly go anywhere, particularly since pertinent facts were withheld from the trial, but will surface in the new investigation: i.e. TM’s text messages, TM’s THC in his blood, etc.
Also, Mark O’Mara made it clear during his press conference that he is fully prepared to fight the Feds. and any others seeking to further harm George Zimmerman.
