Unless you've got some sort of permit that DC recognizes, think twice about that. Dc authorities will show you absolutely no mercy if you are found in possession of a firearm without a permit.
If you sense trouble in the next few days, pick a safer route to work, even if it's a longer commute. Or take a few vacation days.
Of course, it's up to you. You've got to weigh the probabilities. But understand that the second amendment for all practical purposes does not exist in DC, Baltimore, and NYC.
