MIKE HUCKABEE: You have said that you thought the prosecutor ought to be disbarred, that's a pretty serious type of violation to get a person disbarred. It is that serious to you?
ALAN DERSHOWITZ: Right, it is. She submitted an affidavit that was, if not perjurious, completely misleading. She violated all kinds of rules of the profession, and her conduct bordered on criminal conduct. She, by the way, has a horrible reputation in Florida. She's known for overcharging, she's known for being highly political. And in this case, of course she overcharged. Halfway through the trial she realized she wasn't going to get a second degree murder verdict, so she asked for a compromised verdict, for manslaughter. And then, she went even further and said that she was going to charge him with child abuse and felony murder. That was such a stretch that it goes beyond anything professionally responsible. She was among the most irresponsible prosecutors I've seen in 50 years of litigating cases, and believe me, I've seen good prosecutors, bad prosecutors, but rarely have I seen one as bad as this prosecutor, [Angela] Cory.

i bellieve ANY court sanction would result in an automatic bar investigation.
Anybody else notice that fat bitch smiled throughout her press conference?
She acted like she was a madam greeting her Johns at her whore house.
Disgusting. Disbar the fat hack.
Nothing will happen to Angela Corey. She will not be disbarred, because everyone everyone who would be involved in charging her with ethics violations is too afraid of the race baiters to bring the charges.
Eric Holder was right. When it comes to race relations in America, we ARE a Nation of COWARDS.
Would Dershowitz have standing to lodge such a complaint? What are the criteria, and does Dershowitz meet them?
Agreed. But, I’m not asking for a conservative black man to talk about responsibility....I’m talking about any black man with credibility talking about family, responsibility, etc.
I know most of us are conservatives on this site, but there are bigger issues here. Cosby made a push to shame black men into raising their children and he paid a price because he broke from the ‘man is keeping the people down narrative.’ That’s the sad thing...I don’t care what party he identifies with....his message was right on target and we need more folks like this if the black community is ever going to get their minds out of the 50’s.
I just heard an NAACP rep compare Trayvon Martin to Emmit Till (Till was brutally murdered by two white men in an obvious racist murder. The two white men were found no guilty in a show trial). It took my breathh away. Comparing this situation to an actual racist incident dimishes Emmit Till and makes the NAACP rep look absolutely stupid. This is the mind-set that will keep black people in the poor-house for another 100 years. Cosby can’t crack it. Who can?
Who the hell was she kidding??? She concealed the facts of the case to the very end and only revealed then when forced to.
Like I said, even the reporters saw through her bs and they weren't staying in a Holiday Inn Express.
Ack! What did the folks in Florida do to deserve her and Corey? Throw in Nelson and you have the 3 witches on the heath saying “Fair is foul, and foul is fair” while stirring up a heaping serving of double toil and trouble.
That is not a Florida city with the same demographics as Orlando, or Sanford.
Charging Zimmerman got her re-elected to her office last year, in a heavily black minority district.
I'm certain people in Orlando, which is in Orange County, (not Seminole County) will have zero local voting power over her, way up north in Duval County.
Corey will be brought up on numerous misconduct charges, and hopefully will be kicked out of office and disbarred.
Like Nifong, she probably won't actually be forced to pay much for her corrupt and politically based prosecution.
Bondi and Scott have their own problems now, and are in no position to help her out, were they to be so inclined.
Malicious Prosecution is the term the ladies named and Dirxhowitz described. What does it entails in Florida?
It’s an insult to any person’s intelligence. It’s like peeing on my head and telling me it’s raining.
The world is up side down.
Lifelong demonRATS, O'Mara, West, Derschewitz are siding with truth and justice and the pubbies, Correy and Gov. Scott are with jesse and fat al and malik zulu shabazz.
I need a Johnnie Walker Black.
When I drink Johnnie Walker Black, am I being a racist?
Only if you chase it with Carlings Black Label Beer.
Here is my chaser of choice.
See, I'm not a racist, and on that note, g'night, Elizabeth.
Don’t be distracted. The Federal government is going to use sleight of hand, to keep our attention focussed on riots and demonstrations like the ones in Oakland, San Francisco and elsewhere, to try and give Boehner and Cantor breathing room to force amnesty for illegal aliens down our throats. DON’T LET THEM DO THIS!!
“What’s the B stand for?”
Beth.
I assume that the Bar in Florida is like all other professional associations. With few exceptions, anyone can file a complaint against one of the profession's members without any special standing. The disciplinary board may quickly dismiss the accusation without any other action if it seems to be without basis on the surface.
Disciplinary boards of the professions have two concerns. First, the boards obviously want to weed out corruption caused by bad apples. Second, the boards want to protect the reputation of the profession by protecting against those who might tarnish it. There seems to be enough "problems" being discovered that the second concern is certainly pertinent and the first is probably as well, although that would take a definite finding from a disciplinary board.
Even if Dershowitz doesn't have standing, he could easily find someone who does and piggyback his opinion on that complaint. A disciplinary board is not going to quickly dismiss the vocal complaints of one the country's legal heavyweights. (As much as I hate to admit that about Dershowitz, there is no denying the obvious.)
Thanks for that informative answer.
Not guilty.
