Ben, your opinion ALSO matches the educated opinion of the closest law enforcement to the actual incident. They thoroughly reviewed the same facts and decided that Z should not be charged, as he was acting in self defense.
It turns out they were right. It’s a shame that one of them was driven out of his job, and one of them was demoted, before their good judgment was confirmed.
