Posted on 07/15/2013 6:49:55 PM PDT by EXCH54FE
NOVA Womens Healthcare of Fairfax County was one of the largest and most frequented abortion clinics in the state of Virginia. It performed more abortions than any other provider in the Old Dominion in the last few years, including 3,066 in 2012 alone. But, thanks to new abortion regulations in the state and a denied permit, it has seen its last patient.
Its speculated that new Virginia regulations which require clinics to meet new hospital-grade standards had forced NOVA to find a new location. The clinic never got the chance though, for the city denied its permit for being one parking space short of city laws and therefore forced the business to close its doors.
NOVA is one of many clinics affected by new abortion regulations sweeping across the country. In Texas, the state legislature successfully passed HB2, which bans abortion after 20 weeks and requires an abortionist to have admitting privileges to a surgical center within 30 miles of the abortion clinic. Thirty-seven of the states 42 clinics fail to meet these standards and are therefore likely to be shuttered.
With NOVAs closing, it is one of 30 to close so far this year, already doubling that of last years. Since 1991, the number has dropped from 2,176 to 625. As for crisis pregnancy centers (CPCs), which serve pregnant women and infants and do not provide abortions their numbers are staying strong. There are 2,200 CPCs spreading a pro-life message across the country.

By any chance, did it have “Arbeit Macht Frei” over the entrance ?
Great ... thanks for the post, you made my night
Busiest? More accurate adjectives apply: Bloodiest, deadliest, most murderous, and so on...
I think it’s great that we are closing these slaughter houses, I think the next challenge is a strictly enforced license to get pregnant... :)
Unborn Virginians to hold a news conference at 9pm.
There, fixed it.
No... it was “abandon hope.”
Now perhaps more safe and more rare?
why on earth are they closing? all these places do so many other women’s health medical procedures, like mammograms, etc...?!?
at least that’s what the ppfa president said their places do...
This is good news, and that is a rare thing these days..
May God Bless and protect the unborn!
They’re simply relocating. Fairfax has gotten too ‘white’, so they’ll set up shop in SE DC in order to carry on Sanger’s dream.
standing by for the massive protests by lesbians and liberal women who wouldn’t ever be in danger of getting pregnant....
They can just go to MD and DC to get it done. They’ll do it in a trailer off the beltway in MD if they could.
Another one bites the dust.....
“the city denied its permit for being one parking space short of city laws”
Ridulous regulations written by some bureaucrat in a cubicle circling around to slap the liberals.
