“For many Americans [the verdict] is another piece of evidence of the incontrovertible contempt that this nation often shows and displays for black men.”...Tavis Smiley

So Tavish thinks that any self defense against any ambush
attack by a profiling black punk is contempt. I guess he
wants to legalize the knock out game for blacks only.

Yes, that’s common sense.

“That may be one more thing polite people aren’t supposed to say out loud – and certainly not in public.”

Scared unarmed people maybe. It’s not about being polite,
it’s about being physically attacked by said people. I have
no problem saying it, of course, I have backup.

I don’t agree that Trayvon was profiled by Zimmerman. I also do not agree that Zimmerman was too vigilant, I half way do not believe this was a tragedy.

IMO, it was a tragedy. An avoidable one. Which doesn't equate to criminality. Trayvon was profiled, as someone acting unusually, suspiciously, in the complex. Maybe he was suspicious, maybe he wasn't, common sense in an urban environment suggests it's time to call the authorities, which he did. But not profiled based on race, he had to be asked that question.

Too vigilant, who knows. Bet he wished he didn't get out of his car (van?). But nothing illegal there. Or irresponsible.

As to Martin, there seem to have been some character issues. I can't comment on his parents, don't know what they were doing to straighten him out (if he needed it), imo can't blame the parents for his actions. Don't know if pop was a crip, have heard he had gang tats, but if he overcame those associations, good for him.

The most amazing thing about the media is the fact that while everything they say and print is recorded, they never remember how consistently wrong they are.
I want Zimmerman to sue NBC for so much money, it’ll be like winning a megamillions lottery jackpot. Because by sniping out an answer and then a question from his NEN police call, NBC showed actual malice in spades. So they owe it - and George Zimmerman deserves to have it, and to distribute a lot of it among the people who stood by him and need protection for having done so.

Et tu, Bernie?

GZ was only profiling if there were 5 teenagers in hoodies
creeping around the apartments and he picked the ONLY one
that was black. Then maybe...

Also, I’ve been wondering, can an individual be accused of
profiling? I guess I always thought of it as a problem for police departments, companies, etc.

Right.

I can understand why they don’t publicly admit their mistakes, however you would think that there are a few executive types that see a correlation between their declining viewership and their consistent misrepresentations of stories. It is a business after all.

There are only two possibilities, one is that they have no clue and just go about their business or they know exactly what they are doing and have no integrity.

But, there is a food chain so to speak, and in business to have top executives accept declining revenues regardless of political leanings is simply retarded.

There is a huge opportunity for them if they would drop the bias and report the news.

They could more than double their viewership virtually overnight.

We live on a small airport. After hours there is a gate that closes to protect the airplanes. Whenever I see anyone that I don't recognize wandering around day or night I check them out. If I see them doing something inappropriate like walking or playing on the runway I confront them and chase them off.

Guilty as sin indeed. My hope and prayer is that God judges the news media and all other George Zimmerman condemners the same way they have judged him. That would be true justice.

First, let’s acknowledge that Trayvon Martin’s death is a tragedy. I’ll go so far as to say it was a tragedy that

I'm tired of hearing people say this. That punk got what was coming to him. He was a violent street thug that would have eventually killed somebody. Possibly even the very night that he died unless his victim fought back.

That the assn paid $1 mil damages, settled rapidly through the ins co, implies that he was allowed to be there without notification or had permission.

The HOA settled out of court, strictly, and solely because of the issue of the security cameras not working. They had not been working for some time prior to the actual shooting occurring. This fact, combined with the 'private property' designation, which precluded Sanford PD from patrolling the area, left the HOA legally vulnerable.

The fact that the HOA has reversed course in requesting Sanford PD patrols in the area speaks as to why they settled...

All this “tragedy that a young boys life was ended” is not a tragedy at all: The thug was well on his way to beating, robbing, raping and killing. . .it was no tragedy that his criminal career was cut short. So many innocent people will now never suffer from the thugs depravity.

And George did not “profile” the thug for how he looked. . .he profiled him because of how he BEHAVED. Big difference.

“Gated community” is a canard. It was not a well-to-do, wealthy neighborhood. In fact, it was lower middle class. Gated? Sure, much like apartment complexes are “gated.”

Sheesh. . .

I take issue with the fact you say zimmerman profiled Martin. There is no evidence of that. He didn't mention Martin's race until he was asked by dispatch and then replied he looks black which would lead any rational person to conclude George wasn't even sure he was black when he called police. And if Zimmerman would have seen a white kid standing in a neighbors yard at night in the rain looking at the houses in a suspicious manner you don't feel he would have pulled over up the street and called the cops because that's crazy.
