Let’s not forget 150,000 Katrina evacuees were bussed in from New Orleans.

You can keep them. I have no problem with it.

I don’t think so — I don’t think it was incorportated, I think it was part of Houston.

The crime went way up, as might be expected, after the evacuees settled in.

I think most of them stayed in Houston because 1) they got benefits! and 2) they had nothing to go back to, since they had no insurance on their homes in New Orleans.

At this point I think Houston would be glad to pay for them to go back to New Orleans.

To Houston’s bleeding hearts it seemed like a good idea at the time — they had no idea.

Not Sharpstown a city, Sharpstown Mall on 59 in southwest Houston. First moved to Houston in 1985 and we shopped a lot at Sharpstown. Not any more!

I lived about 4 blocks from the Dome when we were invaded by people from NOLA. Just an absolute zoo. Volunteered one afternoon. Those people wouldn’t help prepare meals, clean up after themselves, organize activities for the kiddos or anything. The Red Cross was giving out MC and VISA gift cards to anyone putting out their hand. They were being spent on expensive jewelry and gifts for themselves from stores like Neiman instead of going to KMart and buying serviceable clothing or books and things for their children.

Houston’s Democrat mayor Houston rolled out the red carpet complete with free apartments, furniture and all the trimmings. Sheila Jackson Lee’s new constituents.

So there was a method to their madness.

Your observations pretty much reinforce what I witnessed my various times there.

If Quannell does 4 more sequels then he’ll beat “Friday the 13th.”

“Black folks may enter any high end neighborhood in America with little to no trouble.

I would not dare go to the hood after dark, and it has always been that way during my lifetime.”

It takes a village to beat up one white boy ala the truck driver in the L.A. riots

“I’m waiting to read about a black child named Cymbalca, Levitra, Cyalis, Viagra or some other drug.”

There is a female that shows up regularly in the police report in the local paper, named “Aqua Netta”, it always cracks me up
