I think racial quotas have caused a situation where people are filling positions for which they are clearly unqualified. Nepotism has traditionally been one source, but racial quotas have simply overwhelmed nepotism in terms of sheer numbers. Even with nepotism, the apple doesn't fall that far from the tree, whereas racial quotas have people from the favored ethnic groups dropping the ball all over the place.

The state supreme court leans heavily conservative. (since one of the liberal justices went to prison for fraud)

I guess she doesn’t understand the concept that bankruptcy helps the city, rather than facing thousands of creditor lawsuits and the ultimate liquidation of city assets.

I will admit that in my ‘drinking’ years (ended 1990) I probably was the victim (not my real choice of words) of far too many BRAIN CELLS being destroyed by alcohol.
I used to comment “I lost more brain cells to alcohol than YOU ever possessed or will ever posses”.
I really stand by that statement and figure after 20 some years I have probably ‘regrown’ those that I lost.
That said, what am I missing here?

Don’t know if you are following what is happening in DC now inre Walmart BUT don’t these IDIOTS realize that if Walmart is to have to virtually pay time and one half for the first 40 hours, the cost will be absorbed in the price of the product?
I realize BO Care has virtually wiped out OVERTIME in most cases but doesn’t anyone run numbers to see the outcome?
Good example of DC is gas prices. Usually considerably higher than MD and much much higher than VA.
The inmates are definitely running the asylum as people LEAVE the District to purchase gas and cigarettes and people from the suburbs come to DC to purchase booze. Now Walmart will be stuck with 3 to 6 stores in the District and those with the means will go to the suburbs to shop (like they do now) and the ones that will be taking it in the shorts ‘AGAIN’, are the poor that are trapped there and more or less unable to afford Walmart as it is.
Just hearing that DC Council says if Walmart leaves THEY will propose raising the minimum wage.
WILL SOMEONE SEND THE IDJITS IN DC SOME FILM OF DETROIT?
Do those IDJITS really believe that the ‘main office’ and Corporate ABSORB all the extra money they are demanding.
Like Rush says “IF 25 per hour is a good min wage, why not 100”? Where do you draw the line.
When the shift guy that cleans the parking lot at Mickey D’s is receiving 30 per hour, you are not allowed to complain when the plain hamburger is costing 9 bucks each or more.....
