Clarksdale, Mississippi (CNN) -- Beaten. Dragged. Burned.
The words leave attorney Daryl Parks' lips like a barrage of gunfire in the sanctuary of Chapel Hill Missionary Baptist Church, where people have gathered not for prayer but for answers.
Some wear "Justice for Marco" T-shirts. They are enraged over the investigation into the death of Marco McMillian, a young black gay mayoral candidate, whose broken body was discovered dumped downhill from a Mississippi River levee on February 26.
Parks' words suggest the most heinous of murders. Here in the Mississippi Delta, they conjure even more: a chilling history of racial hatred. Mississippi mayoral candidate found dead

Espy, who first became mayor in 1989, was indicted -- and later acquitted -- on charges of conspiracy and making false statements in connection with a $75,000 bank loan to repay debts incurred in a campaign to win a congressional seat vacated by his brother Mike Espy. And Mike Espy resigned his post as agriculture secretary in the Clinton administration because of an investigation into gifts and favors from agribusiness firms. He, too, was later acquitted.

Interesting story of murder and possible corruption cover-up.
Gays never kill other gays,..........right?
Yeah right, there’s no possibility of that. </sarc>
Here is a typical liberal stupidity from the article “Initial media reports implied that perhaps McMillian, described as Mississippi’s first viable openly gay candidate, was killed because of his homosexuality in a state that has no hate crime laws to protect LGBT people.”
Do they really think that someone who’s going to kill somebody would say: oh wait, I can’t kill you, there’s a hate crime law against it; never mind!
Blacks trying to find some way to blame whitey for a black on black crime
Things left unsaid, can make a story as misleading as outright lies.
It sounded to me like they wanted to point a finger at Bill Luckett but no mention of Luckett’s very famous partner in the Ground Zero blues club
There was the usual railing against the “White Power Structure”, but no mention that Clarksdale, like most Delta towns is dominated by the Black Power Structure.
They did skate around the fact that Clarksdale is one miserable town but what they neglected to mention was it is, like most Mississippi Delta towns a real $hithole.
for those of you who have never been in the Mississippi Delta, it is mostly like some third world country.
Gays are volatile and unstable by their very nature. That's why their life expectancy is about 20 years shorter than straights.
I donno. Anyone know where George Zimmerman was during the time of his murder? Maybe Holder will investigate Zimmerman for this?
Blacks rule on both sides of the river in the Delta. And black juries aren’t likely to convict a black guy of a crime against a white. Things have reversed.
I spent a little time in the 60s in and around "Mississippi Delta towns" and couldn't believe the grinding poverty, don't know if it's still the same. I have seen the same kind of poverty on Indian Reservations too.
Don't know the cause or the cure but highly suspect the cause may be the government trying to cure it.
They started off poor, and with the government's 'help' have become poorer, but with even LESS desire to get out of their situation.
Queers kill each other all the time, or his opponent could be cut from the Clinton mold and this could a case of Mississippi-Arkancide. Nothing to see here...
I heard a couple that Obama knew were murdered...
