Today marks one week since a Florida jury found George Zimmerman not guilty.
More than 100 cities across the nation rallied Saturday for civil rights charges to be brought against Zimmerman.
But people in Harrisburg want state legislators to stand with them.
Hundreds of people pack Walnut Street…
“What do we want? Justice! When do we want it? Now!”
…with a new sense of pride after President Obama addressed the nation on Friday about the pain among the African American community.
“It could have been your son, it could have been your nephew,” says Harrisburg Mayor, Linda Thompson.
The signs that people are holding are more than just words, it’s a symbol of courage for people in Harrisburg to keep fighting for what they believe is injustice.
“I understand the verdict and I accept the verdict but it’s bigger than that,” says Ed Noon of Harrisburg.
Noon says change starts with the law.
“We’re not in Sanford, Florida, but we’re in Harrisburg Pennsylvania and enough is enough.
Those rallying want their message to resonate throughout the Capitol building.
“We are also today calling on our state legislature and legislators to eliminate the shoot first laws,” says Thompson.
Mayor Thompson wants lawmakers to repeal the shoot first law which allows a person to use deadly force if they feel their own life is in danger.
“Until we challenge that there is no peace and justice in America,” says Thompson.
She believes it would put a stop to gun violence, especially in the capital city.
“In the name and the sake of Trayvon Martin, put your guns away,” says Thompson.

Fighting for injustice is exactly what they're doing.
I notice they didn’t mention how many hundreds.....

I’d like a list of these “hundreds” of cities they keep printing. I wonder if anyone in the press has made any effort to check this dubious claim.

Trayvon should NOT have gotten suspended from school for possessing traces of marijuana.
Trayvon should NOT have stolen 12 pcs of ladies jewelry, and a man’s watch.
Trayvon should NOT have kept a flat head screwdriver described as “a burglary tool”, in his backpack.
Trayvon should NOT have had a criminal past of theft, hiding and acting suspicious.
Trayvon should NOT have encouraged ... fellow thugs to commit murder with the tweet, “Plzz shoot da #mf dat lied 2 u!”.

They want to make self-defense illegal. That will REALLY reduce violence.
26 protesters and hundreds on the streets going about their normal business whom, by virtue of their presence, are deemed to be in sympathy with the protesters.
And it could just have easily been one of their sons or nephews being gunned down by another black or having the snot beat out of them like George Zimmerman. Guess they are too blinded by hate to think clearly. There isn’t one of them who wouldn’t want their friends or family to protect themselves if someone jumped them. Not one of them! Wonder why someone doesn’t ask these haters to put themselves in GZ’s shoes? Oh, they would probably just spew the lies of the left because they aren’t intelligent enough to think for themselves.
