IF it were 1985 or even 90 I would say go to it. But now things happen at warp speed. In 2006 when we had just run surpluses. Did you or I ever dream we would owe 16 trillion headed to 20 by 2016? It was not even on the horizon. Few ever dreamed this obomination could ever happen.If we get Hillary it could be twice as bad.

There are both advantages and disadvantages to considering a 3rd party.
We have heard for over a decade that the best course of action is to take over the GOP from within. How has that worked out? Dole. McCain. Romney. Possibly Bush3.
Recall how Boehner, who just barely escaped losing his speakership, turned on the conservatives and demoted several committee chairpersons.

Several potential minor parties already exist. They, however, tend to be ‘family owned’ or limited issues parties. Few ever even win a local election.
George Wallace’s American Party and Ross Perot’s Reform Party were the only two to make much headway in the last 50 years. They were driven, however, by their founders. When those founders basically took a seat, their respective parties fell apart.
Could a ‘real’ conservative party make it? Considering that many ‘blue dog’ Reagan Democrats do not like the leftist direction their party has been going for two dozen years, and considering the conservative Republicans have a similar problem, imagine what might happen if they united.
A ‘real’ conservative party might have a change. Of course, it would have to be wary of the self-interests who would try to insert themselves in it and take over. The unofficial Tea Party groups have experienced that, as did the Reform Party.

Really good interview. Instead of talking "compromise" he talked about NOT compromising conservative views. He said in one clear sentence why a "pathway to citizenship" is a bad idea. He showed humor, intelligence, clarity, and no need to pander.
Not only is he helping his own future, I think he's making it easier for others to embrace constitutional conservatism. He even gave Rubio an opening to repent and save his integrity, I thought.

I do not see much difference but the minutia around the edges. The only people representing America in government today are the ones that the gop/e and others attack as FAR RIGHT.. Bible Thumpers as we are called... Clinging to our Guns as they say... same as the rats... oh and we are all looking for perfection... ALL lies about us... just like their leftist brethren in the rat party. rat or rino... both lead to the end of America as we know it. I'd rather fight evil in both parties and go down with my boots on than to just bow at their alter. My knees bend for JESUS only... I also love my republic MORE than I love myself. I am NOT alone... not even on this thread. There are others like me that have become enlightened and the gop/e shell game no longer works on us.
It isn't like we aren't giving the gop/e another last chance... the only difference... there are enough of us that if they screw us again... it will be their last chance. FREEDOM PARTY BABY! The time has not yet come... most of us pray it never does... but it may come and soon.

I don’t think tour hopes for a third pary would be so much with disgruntled dems,most of them left and are now with us or npsa(no party affiliations). But more with the indys, middle of the roaders who are just so pissed off with both parties they became independents. Trouble is they are usually not what you would term “activists.” The pathway to get there is ...well way over my head. I can’t think it through at this late date.
Since I have been posting this thread beginning in 1998, I have seen a steady increase in the partisanship of the mainstream, driveby media. Part of what we do here on this thread is to document the abuse, lies, distortions, omissions, biased guests selection, no follow up questions to those the host favors (democrats/RINOs), grilling of those they disfavor (Conservative Republicans), etc., etc.
I don't know how we can possibly overcome this. It just gets worse over the years. Consider the Zimmerman/Martin case if you want to see media bias in action.
All I can say is considering my screen name, the End Times have to be just around the corner! Dr. BEN Carson is a great man. He did a good job making the Black Congresscritter look petty and small. He has my respect.
