“How can state revenues grow if taxes are cut?”

Because the pie grows, dumbasses. Set aside your class envy for a moment, and maybe you could learn something economically.

The cuts are awesome. Business is exploding here in Wichita, I can’t believe all the construction going on.

Many lib pols know tax cuts work to grow revenue, but they’re constitutionally unable to admit it. Even Charles Gibson couldn’t get Obama to admit they worked. Obama was concerned about “fairness” of course. Actually, he didn’t care about fairness, he simply wants control. Like all leftists.

The Kansas City Star has been relentless in their attacks on Kansas and Governor Brownback for their irresponsible behavior. But, their are no border crossing guards along State Line Avenue, so people and businesses quietly make rationale decisions and move on the Kansas side. Meanwhile, the city of Kansas City, MO works tirelessly to become more like Detroit every day.

How can suffocating people breathe if you don't strangle them?

I guess the “show me” state is now the “show me up” state.

Also note that while Republicans hold majorities in both houses of their legislature, these majorities are not big enough to override the governor without Democrats. And the Democrats support Nixon on high taxes.

The answer lies in the latest numbers from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. In the period from May 2012 to May 2013 total non-farm employment in the Kansas City, Kansas – Missouri statistical area rose 0.9 percent, 9,500 jobs. All 9,500 jobs were on the Kansas side of the border. Missouri’s number stood at zero…stagnant.

It's not as simple as all that. The Kansas tax cuts have been in effect for only a couple of months so they can't have been the cause of the job figures for the last year. It's primarily because the Kansas and Missouri sides of the KC area have been poaching company HQs from each other for years, all fueled by tax incentives. Garmin moves to Kansas, Applebee moves to Missouri, AMC moves to Kansas, and now Freightquote.com is moving to Missouri. That's probably a big reason for the job growth,

Brownback's tax plan will likely create jobs in the long run. But they've got a deficit in their next budget that they have to plug, and it'll be interesting to see how they do it.
