Quite correct. Advances in emergency medicine have made the murder rate fall since less of the shooting and stabbing victims die. You’re also right that some of those “wounded” are in very poor condition.

WAVELAND, MS (WLOX)- Waveland police are investigating a shoot-out on Sunday. They say it happened around 8 p.m. at the Waveview Apartment Complex in Waveland.
Witnesses say the suspects fired five shots. No one was injured, but there are reports of damage to a vehicle and a nearby building.
One suspect told police he was heading to his apartment, when he was approached by a group of men.
There was an altercation, and both sides drew guns and opened fire. Authorities have taken one suspect back to the station for questioning.
