"Transforming America, one municipality bankruptcy at a time."

Next comes the Obama mandated raiding of our 401K's and IRA's, by forcing fund managers to buy municipal bonds so the unions still get their benefits and salaries. When that money is gone, we are all equals with food stamps and Obamaphones.

That's economic and social justice, Obama-style.

And BTW.........Since Obama likes to "Be" some run of the mill black, how come he vacations in Martha's Vineyard, where the only blacks are in his security detail?

Who could Obama be on the Isle of Martha's wine? Certainly not Trayvon!

Obama warned voters if they voted for Romney, Detroit would go bankrupt

I think he meant the Detroit automakers, not the city, but I could be wrong.

It is a matter of time before the socialist in one of these cities pursues confiscation of citizen wealth, or, makes an attempt to collect taxes from people who have left the city and state.

Larry Kudlow, Reagan Administration economist, offered a three prong approach for Detroit to successfully emerge from bankruptcy on his radio show the other day:

(1) Get tough with municipal union contracts, including perhaps the Wisconsin plan to restrict municipal union collective bargaining power.

(2) Cut down on crime through more robust policing using more updated techniques, with Giuliani's reforms in New York as a model.

(3) Adoption of "enterprise zones" (as originally promoted nationally by Jack Kemp in the Reagan administration) to attract new startup businesses to the city by easing up or eliminating burdensome taxes.

There are lots of cities that the Democrats have run for years that are doing very nicely. Portland, Oregon comes to mind. Most medium sized cities in Wisconson and Minnesota. Seattle,Washington. Ann Arbor, Michigan. Etc.

This is a false narrative.

It's comforting to the "rainbow conservative" crowd like Glenn Beck, but it ignores the obvious role of race. Just because you want it to be true that "blacks are just like whites, except for the evil progressive politicians ruining their lives" doesn't make it so.

The riots weren't "Democratic" riots, they were blacks rioting. The crime that has plagued Detroit, including the criminal government players, was almost all black crime.

The late, great Lawrence Auster pointed out that in the liberal narrative blacks were not moral actors, the only moral actors were bad whites (racists) and good whites (liberals, who had plans to help the blacks). The blacks were props.

The Glenn Beck rainbow Conservative view is the reverse of what Auster outlined, but still doesn't treat blacks as agents in their own right.

I do. So do most other people who grew up in and around Detroit. We know, we lived there. Jerry Kavanaugh was a decent man and a good mayor, and Democrat.

Sorry, I'm not buying your analysis.
