This story is racist. It will be suppressed, never to see the light of day.

Of course it is being ignored by the "main stream media". Notice the source for the thread?

If I had a grandson, he’d look like Christopher Cervini.

God knows that there are white punks in this country..as well as white kids who might not be actual “punks” but who do thing, particularly while drunk/high,that a reasonable person could see as a threat.Although I’m unfamiliar with the details of this case I’m willing to assume that Scott did,in fact, have good reason to fear serious harm when he killed Cervini.Everyone, regardless of race/gender/ethnicity has the right to protect themselves from serious harm regardless of the race/gender/ethnicity of the individual who represents that threat.

I’d love to hear Chris Matthews & Joe Scarborough’s take on this verdict.

We gotta assume the jury heard facts that compelled them to reach that verdict. We have no basis to think otherwise.

And thats the difference between conservatives and "progressives".

The Cervini family should have trademarked their son’s name & hired a PR company. Next they should have contacted the NAAWP and arranged some protest marches to intimidate officials into arresting and charging Scott. After the trial they should then change the agenda to include voting, jobs, enactment of stronger protections for self defense, and of course “outreach” and “dialog”. Of course if the President could have the DOJ assist with arranging the protest marches, and if the President could say that his son “looked like Chris”, well that would be a huge help.

They should also have hired a high profile KKK member to organize 100 rallies across the nation.

That's a 5 out of 5!

“The media have lost all credibility.”

That happened about 20 years ago.

The prosecution sounds familiar....

http://themartialist.net/?p=306

Monroe County Assistant District Attorney Julie Finnochio, by contrast, ruthlessly
and relentlessly prosecuted Scottt. She got the last word during closing arguments,
too, and tried to tell the jury that, regardless of the circumstances, the shooting was
not justified. After the jury came back with their verdict of not guilty, she couldn’t
resist the chance to twist the knife in Scott’s guts — or to further the propaganda that
has been spewing from her office from the outset. “I just hope it’s not a message to
this community,” she sniffed, “that you have the right to shoot an unarmed 17-year-old
kid for breaking into a car.”

This is intellectually dishonest. The woman is still trying to paint Scott, now a free
and vindicated man, as a cold-blooded murderer. These “kids” — these teenaged,
drunken, drug-addled, sometimes knife-toting petty criminals — were not shot at for
breaking into a car, but for trying to assault Roderick Scott when he caught them
committing theft.

end snip

Yep. That's the real story in the Zimmerman/Martin case. It's not about racism, or "stand your ground," or whether Zimmerman was a "wannabe cop" or Martin a thug, or even really about what exactly happened that night (no one but George Zimmerman knows for sure). The truly horrifying thing about the Zimmerman trial is the way it higlighted just how little many prosecutors care about Justice. It's all about winning cases, preferably high-profile cases, getting convictions even where the facts don't even justify going to trial.

If Americans knew half of what goes on in courtrooms and DA's offices every day, they'd revolt.
