Well said.
As far as I’m concerned, it’s like hearing from a coworker that while they were on vacation—his wife left him for the scuba instructor, the dog died at the kennel and his daughter ran off with a thrash band bass player. So you say,
“Hey, that’s terrible. Sorry to hear it, anything I can do just let me know ....”
Well their vacation was in 1990 (!) but he wants to wallow in it every day at lunch. You can’t get away from him, he’s been drunk and hostile, been demoted, is always wanting ‘loans’ and favors .......
Yeah, that chit’s getting old.
If I was ignorant of the facts, and believed that Zimmermann was a white racist cop-wanabe that chased down an innocent 12 year old black child so he could shoot him in cold blood (as the press would like you to believe), I probably wouldn’t agree with the verdict either.
But then I’m not that ignorant.
If 81% of blacks feel this way - in spite of the evidence available, then there is really no reason to try to reach out and talk to them.
They really don’t wanna hear what anyone else has to say. IOW, they can live in their fantasy world of blaming it all on “The Man” and “Whitey”.
Of that 81% of blacks, how many of them would have done the same thing that Zimmerman did - if faced with a violent attack?
You can bet your ass that almost all of them would.
In some conservative media circles, they have been blaming the media on trying to create racial tensions and racial gulf.
I’m starting to wonder if in fact the media isn’t reporting it accurately after all? 81% is pretty convincing that there’s a huge disconnect between us and them.
Charles, I think you see that exactly the same way I do.
I appreciate the comments. They were very sound.
Almost convicted of crime he didn't commit, he escaped to the Miami underground. Today, still wanted by the Federal government, he survives as a soldier of fortune. If you have a problem...if no one else can help...and if you can find him...maybe you can hire... George Zimmerman.
The tribe always sticks together.
Not here it didn't. In this household, all of us approve of the verdict and we all feel charges should never have been filed.
Some of us think charges should be filed against those who filed the charges.
ABC did the poll to refute Rasmussen. Can’t have the narrative of Obama disputed ANYWHERE, you see....
I am so almighty weary of the cheap, cheating "even-handedness" that makes a pundit feel it's only "fair" to say to say "Zimmerman did wrong, too" or "Zimmerman showed oversealousness when..."
Bullninnies. George Zimmerman was doing a stellar job as a Neighborhood Watch captain, and should rightly be seen as a hero and a mensch.
Trayvon Martin decided to launch a felony aggravated assault on someone who had done him no harm, someone who was in fact trying to protect the community Martin was living in. Too bad Mr. Martin got the logical and natural consequence of his error.
I do pray for the repose of his soul.
But no flowers for Trayvon. I´d rather give George a bouquet.
I’m in the same boat you are. I am backing away from the black friends I have that fall for this Travon Martin crap. I just don’t trust them anymore and I don’t need this. We expect moderate Muslims to speak up for their radicals; I expect no less from the black community. All blacks are as Muslims to me now. THANK YOU OBAMA you racist bigot! The Old Testament is right: “You shall not intermarry with them, giving your daughters to their sons or taking their daughters for your sons, for they would turn away your sons from following me, to serve other gods. Then the anger of the Lord would be kindled against you, and he would destroy you quickly.” Deut 7:3-4.
What’s the matter with you Crazy a$$ Crackas out there. People with appropriate skin color must be allowed to administer 2 broken noses with out retribution before any self defense laws kick in (just as illegal aliens, with appropriate skin color, are allowed to forge two passports, under the new Obama/Reid illegal immigration bill).
While I agree that Ben Stein did play the 'Zimmerman is no angel' game, Ben Stein's recent article is the most damning thing that I've ever seen him write about black agitators in particular, but also about the black community on the whole. He really calls them on their BS...
A keeper!
I only wonder why he said ""Zimmerman --- while a fool ---" etc. It does look like a parenthetical just stuck in there, and incongruous with the rest of the article.
Perhaps he just meant it as a sigh of weary irony, as in "What a fool to try to Do The Right Thing in such a risky world where no good deed ever goes unpunished..."..."
And the same 39% don't believe in the Constitution nor know what double jeopardy means.
