MSNBC’s Michael Eric Dyson blames racism for Detroit bankruptcy
The Washington Times ^ | July 22, 2013 | Jessica Chasmar

Posted on 07/22/2013 10:24:15 PM PDT by walford

“Of course, it’s an 85 percent black city,” Mr. Dyson replied. “It’s been perceived as a colony of black people who are ringed by suburban white areas that are now going into the city to plunder it. The perception is that there is a massive takeover of resources and materials and properties, basically being occupied.”

“We have to acknowledge that part of this has to be the racial animus that has characterized that city for the last 50-some-odd years,” he continued. “The service industries hemorrhaged jobs in the inner city, depleted that city of its economic infrastructure and left it to its own fate.”

It's not as if Detroit -- and most other cities -- are run by Democrats. They are plagued by a shrinking population and a growing government along with union cronyism, of course. Yea, that's racism.

It is truly breath-taking the twists and turns these cretins will take to avoid the truth.

Since it was on PMSNBC, I’ll bet somewhere around 100 people heard him say it.

I overheard a liberal woman remark that she’s “getting tired of all the racial crap”. I got a chuckle out of that.

Alinski’s Rules for Radicals ...

The rules:

“Power is not only what you have, but what the enemy thinks you have.”
“Never go outside the expertise of your people.”
“Whenever possible, go outside the expertise of the enemy.”
“Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules.”
“Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon.”
“A good tactic is one your people enjoy.”
“A tactic that drags on too long becomes a drag.”
“Keep the pressure on. Never let up.”
“The threat is usually more terrifying than the thing itself.”
“The major premise for tactics is the development of operations that will maintain a constant pressure upon the opposition.”
“If you push a negative hard enough, it will push through and become a positive.”
“The price of a successful attack is a constructive alternative.”
“Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.”

I think racism may be the culprit here.

I knew a guy who lived in Detroit back in the day. He had to leave his home because it got shot up a couple of times and he feared for his life. He was eventually unable to rent his home out because everyone else was afraid to live there. I don't know if the homes of white people were specifically targeted, but it seems a reasonable possibility. So yeah, racism may be a big part of the reason for Detroit's failure.

The guy was financially ruined by the loss of his home, but I don't think you will ever see the media covering those sorts of stories. They sell homeowners insurance for fire and floods, but they don't sell insurance against democrat governance.

Just incredible that they never miss a chance to play the race card.

You are so right.
That is SUCH a demonstration of immaturity, lack of accountability and just plain LYING.
That nonsense is coming from the leaders. The entire population (whatever race) that buys into that way of thinking KEEPS the ONE population chained to dependence, victimization mentality and an absence of hope, independence and self-reliance.

I go between annoyance at THEIR puerile attitude and my own "serves'em right" attitude.

Side note: My husband, mother and I were in Kenya on a three-week photo safari. At one place there was a middle-aged African-American couple there visiting and they looked very uncomfortable, uneasy, shell-shocked and nervous. THEY obviously thought that they were on the "back to Africa" trek but in reality they were 50 shades lighter that the Kenyans...samburus, watusis, all of the tribes were absolutely EBONY.

I realized then WHY they were originally called BLACK people. The African-Americans were merely cafe au lait, WAY out of place in every way. Wow, it was as much of a shocker to me as it OBVIOUSLY was to the "African-American" couple.

Their AIN'T no place like home and African-Americans who THINK for one nano-second that they are in any shape, shade, or relation to Africans REALLY should take a trip to Africa. Lord have mercy, what an eye-opener.

It’s getting to the point that I half expect black infants to start pointing their fingers at the nearest white kid whenever they load their own diapers.

I knew of an old guy who had those problems, but he refused to let them chase him out. Eventually they murdered him.
