Confirmed: (Racist) Left Wing Plant at Houston Pro-Zimmerman Rally is Far Left Activist

LEFTIST PLANT INFILTRATES HOUSTON PRO-ZIMMERMAN RALLY– Liberal Media runs with it

A photo from the Houston pro-Zimmerman counter-rally of the NBPP anti-Zimmerman rally picked up by the AP shows a woman holding a sign that read, “Racist & Proud.”

That looked incongruent with the other reports from the pro-Zimmerman side. The Houston Chronicle identified her as Renee Vaughan:

One woman in the Zimmerman group held a sign that said, “We’re racist & proud.”

Austin resident Renee Vaughan echoed the sign’s ugly sentiments by yelling, “We’re racist. We’re proud. We’re better because we’re white,” at the Martin group as they passed, according to the Chronicle.

The act to smear the Zimmerman supporters as racists with a leftist plant worked as the photo and comment was picked up and spread worldwide.

Scanning the internet we found that a “Renee Vaughn” from Austin worked for a far left environmental group, the Texas Campaign for the Environment.

All the cards are stacked with the communists left. America is a land that these communists have infiltrated every walk of life including the educational system and the government. America is finish and will never be the same because there is really no [i.e., none, nothing, zero] effective way to fight it. The right has very little ammunition when more than half of Americans are ignorant and uninformed.

Considering all those absolutes, only that last sentence is true ("very little" gives us some wiggle room; at least it's not "nothing").

Look, we understand the ease with which one can slip into total and complete despair, but as they say, "it ain't over 'til it's over," unless you just give up without a fight. Nothing is certain in life except death, so buck up!

You keep this up and we'll change your name to "Negative me." :-)

Interesting...The office for Texas Campaign for the Environment, their office is right next door to the Harris County Republican Party’s HQ...

Nice catch. If they have adjoining walls, the HCRP people need to consider the possibility of listening devices.

Yes, it’s the same tactic the Black Caucus et al. used on the Tea Party.

The best reaction to these plants I’ve seen is when tea-partiers surround them with signs of their own (with arrows pointing to the offender) that say things like “Leftist Plant. Needs Shower of Rain,” “Liberal Stooge Showing Their Hate HERE!,” or “Community Divider At Work.”

Great idea. Just a few thoughts to decrease the chance of an AP person cropping you out of the photo...

Judging by the tight shot here of Vaughn (so close that a big "imposter" type of sign wouldn't have shown up in the pic), you would need at least 2 people holding small and succinct signs in very bold ink. The more people the better, but these 2 people are key.

One person's sign should be held tightly behind her left shoulder and the other person's sign should be tightly behind her right shoulder. The two people should stick to her like glue so ANY photo that's taken of her will display at least one of the "Imposter" signs in the photo.

The idea is to make it impossible for someone to crop out your sign without destroying the photo's usability. Great thread, Kristann!

The internet should make us all paranoid.

A month ago, I was arguing with someone about the concept of desiring to change oneself, as regards sexual identity and California’s prohibition against allowing teenagers to get professional counseling if they want to be heterosexual.

In an attempt to find some analogy that might illustrate my point, I looked at his avatar, which showed him to be somewhat large. So I said “looking at your picture, it seems you might have at some point thought you would like to lose some weight. Isn’t that a good example of how someone might want to change “what they are”?

He took that as me calling him fat. And it turned out he was gay, and apparently a lot of gays are fat, and they take being called fat as some sort of gay slur. So he was hurt.

His response was to go to my facebook page, and look at my pictures. I used to be quite fat, although at the moment I am merely obese. I also don’t post any pictures publicly on facebook (my avatar is a south park character). But it turned out I had made one album of pictures from a train show public so that some friends of my son’s could see them (I don’t have friends on my facebook except my family).

He went through them, and found a picture of my son, who is a very large child.

Then he came back to the Disqus discussion (on national review) and said “looking at you and your son’s obvious weight problems, you have no room to call other people fat”.

That was the first time I was truly pissed off at a conversation — an adult male (who was gay) had looked up not MY info, but had actually dragged my minor son into a political argument to insult him.

But I got him back — the next 10 times I responded to him, I mentioned how it was really creepy that he had taken such an interest in a minor child. Which, when I found out he was gay, really explained all his responses after that. He eventually deleted the original post, and I wiped out my posts to him. I also fixed my facebook.

My son posts everything public, and uses his name, so my guess is he’ll never get a good-paying job. :-)

This was deleted: Renee Vaughan Associate Staff Director (Austin), spent many weeks of her childhood in the Gila National Forest with her family, and so has a deep appreciation for the world’s places of natural beauty. Her hobby is urban and landscape photography. A graduate of the University of North Texas, she began organizing with TCE in August of 2004. Renee is passionate about empowering people to lead their leaders toward more just social and environmental policies, and views the grassroots canvass as a crucial political tool in making real change.
