Steve King: DREAMers Aren’t All Valedictorians, Many More Are Running Drugs (Updated)

Updated 7:26 p.m. | Republicans and Democrats slammed Rep. Steve King Tuesday for saying last week that children who were brought to the U.S. illegally don’t deserve “amnesty” because they’re not “all valedictorians.”

South Carolina GOP Rep. Trey Gowdy called the remarks “reprehensible,” while Florida Democrat Joe Garcia argued they were “beneath the dignity” of a member of Congress.

The Iowa Republican told the conservative website NewsMax that he is sympathetic to the situation in which many undocumented children find themselves. But he said those so-called DREAMers are not all created equal.

“Some of them are valedictorians — and their parents brought them in. It wasn’t their fault. It’s true in some cases, but they aren’t all valedictorians. They weren’t all brought in by their parents.

“For everyone who’s a valedictorian, there’s another 100 out there who weigh 130 pounds — and they’ve got calves the size of cantaloupes because they’re hauling 75 pounds of marijuana across the desert. Those people would be legalized with the same act.”

King said until there is some way to tell the difference between the “innocent ones” and those who have been “undermining our culture and civilization and profiting from criminal acts,” no one should advocate for “amnesty.”

During a Tuesday House Judiciary hearing on finding a pathway to citizenship for undocumented immigrant children, Garcia denounced King’s comments while the Iowa Republican, a fellow panel member, sat in the room.

“Did you hear his five minutes?” Gowdy asked a scrum of reporters of King’s hearing statement. ”He took one line from my opening statement about a remedy that lasts a lifetime and lectures me about the rule of law. I was a prosecutor for 15 years.”

Only chance to stop the Amnesty bill is for the House not to consider any immigration related bill at all.

Michelle Bachman explained it. ANY House bill no matter if it promises all the border security in the world will be a trojan horse.NO bill at all must come out of the House because it will be merged with the Senate Amnesty and trojan horse bill. Call congress.

Tell them to stop all Amnesty or immigration bills.they are all trojan horse bills. some will promise border security that will never be enforced anyway.

Bachmann explained it . The House will write a border security bill only . then in conference the senate will add the virus and then bring it back to the house. then the conservatives won’t vote for it but democrats will all vote for it so then they only need 10% of republicans to pass Amnesty and the virus that will destroy America. so any bill at all will be added the virus . so best thing is for Boner to not let any immigration bill at all come out of the House. that is the only hope . call boner and the members of the House.

Tom Tancredo echos what Michelle Bachmann said.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3036438/posts

call congress . no bill at all from the House

and of course boner must not bring the Senate bill for the House to vote on. no senate bill, no border security bill from the House .nothing

Trey Gowdy starting to show hints of his betrayal to come. He always had said “tough” things, but remember he is good friends with Lindsey Graham, and had made noises about “compassion” for illegals when talking to “evangelical” advocates for amnesty.

Steve King from the Newsmax article:

SNIP

"The members who are standing up and opposing amnesty are the ones who are keeping their oath of office and adhering to the rule of law — and they understand what happens in a civilization if you reward people for breaking the law, you get more lawbreakers," King tells Newsmax.

More broadly, the congressman says the immigration debate has created three groups of supporters in the United States.

"First, there are the elitists," King begins. "Elitists see that they should have access to cheap labor to clean their homes, mow their lawns, and take care of their gardens. The second group is Democratic power brokers. They see a tremendous advantage to the Democratic Party that turns us into a one-party system if they do what they're trying to do with the Gang of Eight bill in the Senate.

"And the third group is those employers of illegals who benefit from cheap labor at the expense of the taxpayers who are subsidizing them through welfare programs. If you want to support the elitists or Democratic powerbrokers or employers of illegal labor, then support of the Gang of Eight, listen to Grover, listen to Karl Rove," King says, referring to the GOP strategist, who also supports immigration reform.

"If you want to defend the Constitution, the rule of law, and preserve a better destiny for the United States of America — where individuals can make a living with their hands, their backs, their minds, standing on their own two feet — then stand with me."

Tomorrow, this will be the LEAD story for “Commentary” magazine’s daily email newsletter.

They will rip Steve King a new one for shooting his mouth off.

“Commentary” magazine describes itself as, “The bold, influential voice of Conservative opinion.”

Actually, their political specialty is 24/7 RINO assault against every Conservative who says anything even slightly controversial.

The Supreme Court has chiseled on the wall these words from Jesus, “You shall know the Truth and the Truth shall set you free.” (John 8:32)

The House should have these words: “Truth shall not be spoken here”

Hopefully he gets sick of DC and returns to prosecuting.

He is wrong about Steve King though. Many Republicans less conservative than King are against amnesty because it is a big scam. King is more likeable than Gowdy, Ryan, Priebus and Rubio.

There was no Tea Party in 2006 or 2007 and a lot more RINOS in the west and northeast and there was still enough Republicans to stop it. Cotton is in the center of the new GOP.

I use a version of this myself in discussions.

I like Steve King. He was the one that told that me that “deemed” was dead during the KILL THE BILL rally in DC to try and stop Obamacare.
He was perfectly at ease in the crowd.

There is a percentage of “Impoverished” and “Disenfranchised” young people who have been squandering the public’s college education coin for decades. They sign up for the loans they’ll never pay back and the grants and scholarships and milk them for years, taking and flunking remedial classes until the cash cow runs dry. In spite of the opportunity and boost up they are given, they never graduate or get a decent job, and they blame it all on “institutionalized racism,” because it must exist since they’re just not getting ahead. The college assistance scam is just “post-graduate” welfare for the 18 and older crowd who’ve aged out of TANF. Sure, there are those who buckle down and make a go of it, but many don’t.

Did you hear his poor blueberry picker whine last week.

The website Vdare warned that Gowdy was a amnesty traitor last month.

Gowdy packed his little committee with one side .
The LaRaza victim or machine. And excluded any other voices.

He is the worst kind of traitor.
That whole IRS sideshow is a tired distraction to ram they amnesty.
He had some staffers here today astroturfing for him.
