Do you think anyone in the media or the Justice Department will show them any sympathy or support if their children are murdered by black thugs?

Second, if they say one word to the MSM they can expect their tax returns to be audited by the Obama IRS. Who knows what other government agencies will attack them.

It would be nice if they went on national TV and thanked George Zimmerman for his heroic actions. But I understand why they are afraid to.

I think that what you are saying is the point and illustrates the difference between liberal, mob-think, group action and conservative, individual action and individual responsibility. We know and recognize the potential danger to the individual and that person's need to do what is right for their situation.

Wouldn't surprise me if he was just a jerk and wanted to avoid giving credit to Zimmerman. Just because people have stopped going to church doesn't mean that religious faith is dead. It just means that uncritical belief has migrated towards even less rational subjects. People who don't believe in religion will literally believe anything, including the idea that a black youth with a violent record seeing the sights, at night, in the rain, like a tourist, in a gated community, was just minding his own business rather than looking for trouble.

Prejudice has followed a similar path with religious faith - racism is all but dead, so prejudice among liberal whites has migrated from blacks to white southerners, with the kicker that while it was never thought reasonable to wish blacks dead, it is considered almost virtuous to wish white southerners dead. William Faulkner was right to say "The past is never dead. It's not even past."
