Money can't buy the kind of political boost Huma Abedin is receiving. Like her mentor Hillary Clinton, the stand-by-your-man strategy will be her gateway to widespread popularity and respect.
Don't feel sorry for the Democrats over losing a former rising star politician like Anthony Weiner, whose future is so hopeless that even the New York Times says it's time to go. They have gained an even more promising candidate for high office. Huma Abedin is better-looking, better spoken, and more appealing than her role model. Yesterday's performance ("whole lotta therapy") was superb, establishing Ms. Abedin as dignified, strong, and starting to look as American as apple pie.
Although raised in Saudi Arabia, Ms. Abedin was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan, a natural born American. There is a lot of big money help behind Huma and her hubby.
Last year, The New York Post reported:
"After quitting his Queens House seat amid a notorious sexting scandal, Weiner and beautiful, brainy spouse Huma Abedin, a top aide to Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, landed in the sprawling, 12th-floor Park Avenue trophy residence owned by Rosen Partners LLC, which is headed by close Clinton pal Jack Rosen, records show. Rosen - who oversees the American Jewish Congress - is an influential international political force. He's been a guest at the White House, flies the Clintons in his private plane, and has poured money into both Bill and Hillary Clinton's election campaigns over the years, according to campaign-finance records.
He has also contributed several thousand dollars to Weiner's coffers, and is a top Obama bundler, donating more than $500,000 to the president's re-election efforts.

As a New Yorker who lives in the suburbs, I personally do not think so. I believe this revelation will be the straw that breaks the camel’s back.
New Yorker’s might be dumb but they’re not *THAT* dumb (yet).
Besides, if the wanted Free Stuff, Weiner isn’t the only one who is promising them that. There are 4 others in the Mayoral race who can do the same.

Same here. That's why I don't believe her ambition is the reason she's staying with this guy. If anything, staying with him hurts her chances of attaining political office herself, if that's what she aspires to do.
Rather, I think she's doing what so many wives - including conservative and/or Christian women (but not this one) - do: She's standing by him with the hope that he'll "change." In reality, what her husband is doing is a big problem among many men today, and no amount of therapy will ever cure him. He's an addict.

In my lifetime, I’d say it started when people supported the Democrats in the 1998 Congressional elections when they GAINED seats, even as they supported for Clinton after the Lewinsky dalliance was revealed ( On January 26, 1998, Clinton stated, “I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Miss Lewinsky”. He was caught lying a few months later after the “Blue Dress” was revealed ).
The fact that most Americans would IGNORE what they did and supported Clinton’s party told me that things have changed in this country ( for the worse ). Character and integrity have now taken a backseat to a rising stock market.
You mean like a former president who was caught lying about having sex with a 22-year-old intern in the Oval Office, and who was not only impeached, but disbarred for lying to a court being named the "Keynote Speaker" at his party's convention? Ask a democrat. Republicans resign in disgrace.
