Anthony Weiner’s political career may be over, but his wife, Huma Abedin, has returned to her position as director of Hillary Clinton’s transition office.

Former Rep. Anthony Weiner’s (D-N.Y.) friends believe that, while his campaign for mayor may have become a joke, it will set him up for a future political comeback. New York voters puzzle over why Weiner stays in the race despite constant ridicule. The city’s tabloids pump out streams of headlines punning on his name while late-night comics have made him a national punch line. Instead of dropping out, Weiner has embraced the media maelstrom in a calculated gamble that voters would respect his toughness and dedication to their issues. A new documentary by Stateless Media captures Weiner’s unorthodox campaign strategy,...

Anthony Weiner is having such a hard time generating support for his limp campaign that he has resorted to paying a rent-a-crowd firm to provide “supporters” for his events, The Post has learned. Some of the gung-ho Weiner crowds, including at the Aug. 11 Dominican Day Parade in Manhattan, were really actors who were paid $15 an hour by the California firm Crowds on Demand, according to a source with direct knowledge of the deal. The source said surrogates for Weiner approached the Santa Monica-based company days after Indiana-native Sydney Leathers came forward to say that Weiner had continued his...

Anthony Weiner’s campaign fund-raising has virtually dried up since revelations of a sexting relapse rocked his bid for mayor. Weiner received an average of just $1,897 a day in donations since the new sexting scandal erupted July 23, campaign finance records released Friday show. That’s a trickle of the $16,434 he received each day, on average, in the 50 days after launching his run for mayor on May 22. The records also show that Weiner’s wife, Huma Abedin, collected no money on his behalf since the new sexting allegations emerged, after she collected nearly $150,000 in the first 50...

NEW YORK -- It was just a few minutes into Anthony Weiner's door-to-door canvass of a Harlem public housing complex Thursday night, and the New York City mayoral candidate was already agitated. As he scanned his staff-prepared list of apartment numbers and corresponding residents' names, the candidate shook his head in disapproval. "This is no good, the way you have this organized," he said to one of two young, female aides who were accompanying him. “This is N.G. -- not great.” A few minutes later, Weiner remained fixated on the quality of his staff’s advance work, voicing his displeasure in...

You've got to hand it to Anthony Weiner and Human Abedin; they seem to have a real knack for getting other people to pay for their lavish lifestyle. Not only do they live in a $3.3 million Manhattan apartment owned by a Hillary supporter, they appear to have had their lavish wedding (estimated cost: a quarter million bucks!) paid for somebody else. And because Weiner failed to disclose this gift, he may face criminal sanctions. Charles C. Johnson of the Daily Caller reports: Anthony Weiner may have violated federal law when he failed to disclose his lavish six-figure wedding...

He implies that it ended a year ago, but there’s no reason to resort to implication if “no†is the correct answer. Either he’s still sexting and feels obliged to hedge about it, as if lying unabashedly and then getting caught later would somehow do any more damage to his public image, or he’s so used to shading the truth that he can’t help shading it even when the truth is, “No, I haven’t sexted a soul since summer 2012.â€That’s the bad news. The good news? He still enjoys strong support from a core constituency: Escorts. Q. There is no...

Anthony Weiner may have violated federal law when he failed to disclose his lavish six-figure wedding in his financial disclosure forms, says a government accountability group. Ethics watchdog group National Legal and Policy Center examined the federal Financial Disclosure Reports for both Weiner and long-suffering wife Huma Abedin for 2010, the year of their wedding. The cost for the ceremony was at least $100,000 but probably ran closer to $250,000 including all accommodations, clothing and extras. Neither Weiner nor Abedin had the resources to pay for the ultra-expensive wedding, yet neither recorded gifts on their Financial Disclosure Reports for that...

WEINER EXCLUSIVE: Weiner's sexting partner offered sex for cash and bragged about milking sugar daddies she called 'super-pathetic' for thousands of dollars The girl at the heart of Anthony Weiner’s latest sexting scandal claims to have earned thousands of dollars by having sex with older men and offering ‘dates for dollars,’ MailOnline can reveal. In a series of explosive facebook communications, published here for the first time, Sydney Leathers boasts of offering sex for payment. She speaks of her rampant drug use, her desire to ‘ruin’ Weiner and fear that she herself was being blackmailed.

If you're having trouble following this story, let's review the background I so helpfully laid out in September 2012 in "Bill and Hillary and Huma and Anthony." Describing "the vilest soap opera in American history" I noted, "This one's got it all: two sham marriages, sexual perversions, and national treachery at the highest level." The Huma Comedy now bewitching the media is an utter crock. The commentariat's burning questions about the state of poor lil' Huma's marriage mask the cold truth: There is no Abedin/Weiner marriage. There's only a political deal brokered by the Clintons: Weiner would marry Huma, Hillary's...

After House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi finally ripped Anthony Weiner’s “clueless†and “reprehensible†conduct last week, he basically hinted that she should go take a hike — and he’s been insisting that his campaign is going to continue as planned regardless of the newly surfaced revelations about the extent and timing of his sexting scandal. In new poll last Thursday, however, found that support for Weiner among NYC Democrats took a sudden and gigantic plunge, with his favorability rating dropping from 52 percent in June down to 30 percent. Now, for the internal implosion, via the NYT: In a new sign...

Saturday, July 27, 2013 The End of Shame Posted by Daniel Greenfield @ the Sultan Knish blog Weiner's political career will never end, if only because of how much value he has to offer to the media, standup comedians and bored browsers looking for some news item to wake them up long enough to finish another hour of data entry at their job. Shame has become a mostly discredited concept. The return of Weiner and Spitzer to public life proves as much. But the Era of Shame ended conclusively with Clinton's impeachment proceedings. The only outcome of those proceedings was...

Anthony Weiner’s already limp mayoral campaign suffered another huge blow yesterday, when his campaign manager reportedly abandoned the sinking ship. Danny Kedem quit as Weiner’s campaign point man following a disastrous week on the trail, the New York Times reported this morning. With Kedem out of the already shrunken campaign staff, the longshot City Hall bid appeared to be floundering. A campaign spokeswoman would not confirm or deny the report. Weiner stood firm despite his travails yesterday, spending much of the day in his apartment shooting a campaign ad.

Serial sexter Anthony Weiner paid a private eye nearly $45,000 in campaign cash to investigate his lie that a hacker posted a crotch shot on his Twitter feed, campaign spending records show. -snip- Weiner ultimately paid a private investigations firm, T&M Protection services, $43,100 from his campaign fund — knowing nobody hacked anything and that he’d sent the image himself. T&M officials declined to answer questions about what work they did and what they discovered.

Marion Barry: Weiner a 'good Democrat' By Bob Cusack - 07/28/13 12:49 PM ET Former Washington, D.C. Mayor Marion Barry said Anthony Weiner is a "good Democrat" who should be talking more about his accomplishments in Congress. In an interview Saturday night on Geraldo Rivera's show on Fox News, Barry said, "One bit of advice to the congressman: I'd stop talking so much about now and start talking about what you did for seven terms while he was in the Congress. He's a good Democrat." A couple weeks ago, Barry said he can "identify" with what Weiner is going through....

Complete Headline: Huma's mom arrives to support her scandal hit daughter as Weiner's sexting partner calls their marriage a 'business relationship' After Sydney Leathers' accusations of Anthony Weiner's 'business relationship' marriage, wife Huma Abedin's mom has showed up at the reeling political wife's New York City home to support her daughter. Leathers, the 23-year-old who revealed the latest string of explicit sex messages and naked pictures from Anthony Weiner, gave her first interview with CBS's Inside Edition and cried for Abedin 'for the pain she probably feels.' Now, as the other woman rubs salt in Abedin's wounds by telling the...

Author James Michener famously said of Hawaii’s nineteenth century New England missionaries that they went to the islands to do good and ended up doing very, very well. Washington commentator Mark Shields has likened those missionaries to many people who come to Washington—all starry-eyed with idealism upon their arrival but later fixated on the ongoing Beltway stampede for a share of the largess bestowed upon the city’s insiders as they combine government service with often-grubby private pursuits. Which calls to mind Huma Abedin, wife of the disgraced former congressman, Anthony Weiner, and a darling of former secretary of state Hillary...

The influential women-in-politics group EMILY's List will tell supporters on Friday that as far as New York mayoral hopeful Anthony Weiner is concerned, "It's time to end this." "New Yorkers deserve better than the circus their mayoral race has turned into. I actually caught myself glad I'm not home — where I'd have to see the cover of the NY Post on every street corner," communications director Jess McIntosh will write Friday morning in an email obtained by NBC News. Their proposed solution: Donating to Christine Quinn, who would be the first woman mayor of New York. "She's tough, she's...
