DDDFD: isn’t that an exaggeration?

SJB: I don’t think so.

It's just my opinion. I don't think anybody knows how many dreamers are smuggling drugs,

They won’t do ANY background checks.

Similar concern about checking other qualifications for legalization (proof of residence, testimony about when they entered). I would suspect the fraud businesses are already gearing up.

In this Daily News report LINK it is stated that 59.8% of Hispanics make it to graduation, and 74.9% of Blacks do in the LAUSD.  (2011)

Now this is probably a bit misleading if you are only addressing the children of illegal immigrants.  In the schools with the highest concentration of them, I believe I've heard that less than 50% make it to graduation.  Human Events offers up this report LINK that states only 40% of Hispanic students in the LAUSD graduate.

Reading this you'll note a wide desparity in these two reports, which seemingly invalidate each other. This desparity is created by different ways of determining who is a drop out and who isn't.

One method of determining who is a drop-out, is to evaluate people up to 24 years of age, who did follow through and obtain their graduation certificate.  Another method looks at actual students who start high school and don't finish with the rest of their class.  You see, the Left knows no bounds when it comes to spinning each and every aspect of life.

” Another method looks at actual students who start high school and don’t finish with the rest of their class. “

I would trust this method, before the others, but even this one has problems.

I don’t believe they would check anything, including criminal background checks. This is all about the destruction of the United States. Nothing more, nothing less.

Splain? OK. I figure many illegals get a spanish teacher who attempts to teach the illegal something.... fails, and hands him a degree for having learned nothing. That is a phony diploma....toilet paper.

Okay, that’s understandable. I do suspect a number of those attending are probably nowhere near as proficient as they need to be to make a positive contribution to our society.

There is always that one guy out there though, that makes oodles of money on half a candle power of light.

This is pure propaganda and has been tweaked for damage. This is not at all what King said. AP is source of refined propaganda.

This concern for Hispanic sensitivities is coming from the same President’s spokeperson that is currently persecuting hispanic George Zimmerman, possibly for reasons of racial animosity.

This is all about the destruction of the United States. Nothing more, nothing less.

Maybe a little more, like the destruction of western civilization. Hasn't Europe gone totally socialist?

RE :”‘even if they speak perfect English and had all ‘As’ when graduating from HS and are are doing good in college”
.......
Run the numbers. Most kids of illegal immigrants don’t even finish high school. They aren’t at Wharton, or Harvard Business School.
If one in 10,000, or one in 50,000 had straight A’s, it would be a miracle.”

But if you notice I didn't voice an opinion on that one way or the other.
My point is that if there are only 3 of them who fit this category then that completely contradicts the argument that just legalizing those few destroys this nation. This is where King's arguments break down.
If he really believed that most are drug runners then his position that the A students are to be treated the same as those drug running violent criminals makes no sense,

I have a theory that the reason why King is stating this is he is trying to poison the waters, To re-enforce the argument that Hispanics will never vote GOP, by riling them up against the GOP. He probably has < 3 hispanics in his own district so he has his own water supply.

Where did the theory that "only a few" would be legalized come from? If King specified the qualification criteria, they might be narrow, but RINOs want to make sure they are all legalized, and I think King knows that.

I am very skeptical about "strict" requirements where immigration is concerned.

Consider the arguments of apologists for lower tuition for non-citizens. They will claim that only people who are here legally can apply. But if you read the fine print, it will say they must be here legally OR they will apply for legalization in the future. What is the time limit? 100 years? 1000 years? The policy does not specify.

We don't have a House immigration bill yet, but which do you think is more likely: One that legalizes only high school graduates with As and Bs, or one that legalizes all dreamers? Yes, they may tell us that they "have to go to high school," but I advise extreme caution. More likely tha law would say they "intend to graduate from high school."

RE :”Where did the theory that “only a few” would be legalized come from? “

King's line repeats something that Levin has been stating for months(I tune in a few minutes every day in car) , that there are only a few here who were brought here as kids and are A students killing themselves to be successful in the only country (home) they know.,

Is there a chance that an ideology that says that those particular ones above are still criminals like the rest and so they must be hunted down as they are all the others the drug runners? just because they didnt flee this country when they were kids, this has a chance of success?

The reason why King can say this is he probably has less than 3 hispanics in his voting district. That is his universe. I wish this was still 1980 but its not.

that there are only a few here who were brought here as kids and are A students

I don't know what the real numbers are, but for example if King's statement means that among the dreamers there are 100 drug runners for every valedictorian, that sounds way off. I was thinking that the fact that some of the dreamers have already become permanent residents or citizens makes the number of illegal valedictorians lower than it would have been.

But although King is saying some things that sound preposterous to me, we really could end up with an immigration bill that admits millions of illegals we should not accept, and it's not that easy to pass a bill that avoids that trap.
