Holder Wants Texas to Clear Voting Changes With the U.S.

WASHINGTON — Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. announced on Thursday that the Justice Department would ask a court to require Texas to get permission from the federal government before making voting changes in that state. The move opens a new chapter in the political struggle over election rules after the Supreme Court struck down a portion of the Voting Rights Act last month.

In a speech before the National Urban League in Philadelphia, Mr. Holder also indicated that the filing, expected later on Thursday, was most likely just an opening salvo in a new Obama administration strategy to try to reimpose “preclearance” requirements in parts of the country that have a history of discriminating against minority voters.

Dear Eric,

We recognize how much you hate any impediment to your vote fraud schemes.

Texas will continue to fight vote fraud as we see fit.

If you have any objections...well, that’s just too damn bad.

Love,
Texas

“New York Times is excerpt only.”

I’m well aware of that. I’m talking about having to
create an account with the NYT and them logging in to see
the rest of the story. Whats the point? Or is there an
alternative around it? It doesn’t matter, I jacked the
story from somewhere else anyway. Thanks for the lead on
it.

Good point. The democrats create the discrimination
and then blame the rest of the state for it. Every
red state will be labeled a racist state by the actions
of the democrats while the blue states get a pass.

This is akin to a vampire being forced to ask permission to enter your house before he attacks you.
