Old ideas are not bad if they are good ideas. Superheros are an image of Jesus. The trouble is that the superhero with integrity is virtually gone.
I pray that it is so. America needs to love GOD. All that we are... including our very existence... we owe to HIM. Beck was just talking about this... that GOD is truth and truth is eternal. People ignore the truth... they run from it because they do not want to deal with the path that truth requires. Truth is unchanging and is and has always been. satan is the prince of lies. To embrace the lie is to be of satan. GOD bless you for speaking the truth!

Well thank you, sir (or ma’am but it looks like sir to me).
Of course, sadly, political liberals are not the only politicians who lie, though they empirically are seen to lie worse than others in modern America.
I’m currently trying my part to feed a Spirit resurgence by writing spiritual songs for which I hope to get some publishing attention in Nashville. Typically Christian country style. Preaching to the choir in a way (Nashville is the SBC buckle on the bible belt), but I aim to produce something that will speak encouragement to the weak Christian or that can even be presented as a gospel message to unbelievers in the right environment. At some point I may put those up on my Freep page but I’ve been warned about song pirates. Alas, I’d share my stuff for free if it did the most spiritual good, and I think I’d license it out free for any church or evangelization use, but sadly there are unscrupulous people even in the Christian “biz” and then I got to prove the song is mine and augh, a big headache.
A few years ago Hollywood made an updated version of the old fantasy classic “Clash Of The Titans”. They sunk millions of dollars into it, and it was full of amazing, state-of-the-art special effects. And it bombed miserably. And in that special part of Heaven that is reserved for great artists, Ray Harryhousen had a good laugh.
Well, a Greek mythology based flick probably isn’t too appealing to a still quasi Christianized America. It does get three stars on IMDB so it isn’t that horrible a bomb. I’d think the original was a cinematic groundbreaker in special effects but now this is one more example of what everyone and his dog can do in video.
Nirvana sounds like spiritual and intellectual lobotomy to me. No thanks.
Well, I’d think that’s what it would be. All the time, the “desire leads to disappointment” problem that Buddhism is trying to fix is due to sin, and Christianity does the best job of any earthly faith system I know of, of dealing with that issue. Actually, Ecclesiastes does a good elementary job of dealing with it, but it needed the New Testament to make it perfectly plain how to be saved from sin.
Yes, there are many lost souls in America today. Some are saved through our (fellow Christians) actions and we each need to use those GOD given talents to spread the good news. It is a great thing to glorify GOD with music. You are doing good works where they are needed. Keep it up! You are also correct... evil infiltrates everything... even churches and things of the church. Luckily we know them by their fruits.

If the people in Hollywood had some imagination, they could turn Greek mythology into some excellent blockbusters. When you read that stuff, you can see the CG in your mind. Imagine if that was on the big screen, the way the original writers intended it to be. Four thousand years ago.
Well they might, but that’s a spiritual road down which I don’t choose to go. If it had to happen, give the job to some outright, unashamed pagans. Those who appreciate the story best can do the most effective job with it. But again this is hypothetical, I choose the Christian spiritual road and of course advocate for Jesus.
