Thanks to the New American magazine and the American Conservative Union, we can identify the true Conservatives in the U. S. Congress. It's not a pretty or encouraging picture.
In the House of Representatives there are only 15. They are as follows with the asterisk indicating those who have a 100% Conservative voting record:
McClintock, CA
Rohrabacher, CA
Salmon, AZ
*Posey, FL
*Brown, GA
Gingrey, GA
*Huelscamp, KS
*Massey, KY
*Amash, Mi
*Bachmann, Mn
*Jones, NC
*Bridenstine, OK
Hall, TX
*Stockman, TX
Sensenbrenner, Wi
It's truly a disgrace that we have only 15 who are dedicated to Constitutional and Conservative principals. We've lost the valiant Bachmann who served her state and this nation with honor and I'm proud to have been one of her many supporters.
In the Senate the picture is even gloomier as we can only find 8 out of 100 that are true Constitutional Conservatives. Rand Paul didn't make the cut because his record was one point under that of Mitch McConnell who is certainly not my favorite Senator, but nevertheless his record is 90.
*Flake, AZ
Crapo, ID
Resch, ID
McConnell, KY
Cruz, TX
Lee, UT
Johnson, Wi
Barasco, Wy
The fact that there are only 23 true Conservatives presently serving in the U. S. Congress should be like a bucket of cold water in our faces. Who most of us voted for and supported are a disgrace to the nation and to the Constitution.
It becomes increasingly clear that America is in deep trouble and it gets deeper with each passing day. The Congress needs a vacuum cleaner taken to it and then emptied into the trash can. The central socialist government needs a meat axe taken to it and the end result being decimation.
Yes, his list is a steaming pile of BS.
Check the link on my Congressman Tim Walberg and see if you think he would only rate as 70% conservative.
Anyone that would claim he isn’t conservative doesn’t know their ass from a feather-duster!

Sorry, Sub, yours only rates a 70%. Mine, Posey, is a solid 100!
In the Consitution as written and ratified, states hold (almost) all the power, it's time to turn the focus away from Congress or who is President and to start taking our country back, state by state.
Vote ‘em out. And to do that, we’ll need more Conservatives.
Repealing the 16th and 17th amendments would be a good start at the rehabilitation of the republic.
It is difficult sometimes.
A lot of pols get voted in with high expectations and then become Insiders.
Case in point, Senator Tom Coburn.
When he was voted in I thought now this guy
Is someone we need.
Now I want him out of Washington DC. He
has betrayed us.
You set an impossible goal. I agree with you if the votes go against the very tenants of Conservatism... but men are flawed... man is not perfect and to expect perfection from anyone but JESUS and GOD is to set oneself up for failure. I am not talking about voting for gay marriage or against small government or voting to embrace evil. If a person so turns their back on why they were elected... they need to be voted out of office and shunned. I do not even agree with FReepers 100% of the time so I do not expect lockstep perfection from politicians.

With the IRS in charge of Taxation and Obamacare, the wealth and health of the LEGAL citizens of the United States of America will become totally controlled by corrupt politicians at the Federal level, IOW, we will be a Communist State.
We need to create as much civil disobedience as legally possible, because our sorry Congressional RINOs will not Impeach Obama for violations of the US Constitution, Anti-Trust Laws, Cowardice in the face of the enemy, or Dereliction of Duty.
Commie Obama will succeed ONLY if the RINO enablers allow him to do so.
Communist Tyrant B. Hussein Obama has no intention of allowing the US Congress to interfere with Obamas selective implementation of the Anti-Trust violations of Obamacare.
Those who vote to fund Obamacare are thus Communist enablers, pure and simple.
Commie Obama will use HIS Bureaus, HIS Executive Orders, and HIS Military to preserve, protect and defend his Commune-Style, Communist Obamacare in order to insure the complete financial destruction of The United States of America, and thus fulfill his first Inaugural vow to Fundamentally change the United States of America.
Weoll, then your list is flawed then and useless.
Flake? Must be based on his record in the House because the first thing he did in the Senate was join the Mob of Eight then vote to open debate on the most recent gun-grab attempt. Maybe this survey uses Nobel Prize methodology where points are awarded for hope of future conduct?
You can also ad Sessions, Grassley, Ghomert, Stockman,Gowdy and Tom Smith from I think CA to that list as well.
Tom Smith is the one who recently was in a capital building conference room where Paul Ryan was pontificating to the rest about amnesty. Smith stood up and basically warned all of them off on it including Boehner. Apparently he came off very well in that meeting. He told Boehner that the House was not miles apart from the Senate but worlds apart on Amnesty.
All in all though way too few foot soldiers to make any real difference.
And Bachmann just voted for funding to continue to spy on US citizens.
In what way did he betray you?
Perhaps your list isn’t quite complete. Where is Steve King’s name?
Just repealing the seventeenth would be a really good step.
I've come to the opinion that I'd rather have a flat-rate, no exemption, no credit, no withholding income-tax rather than a national sales tax.
I've been tinkering with an idea for a Constitutional Amendment to this effect:
Tax Reform Amendment |
If he had 70 or under he’s wouldn’t be included on my list. A rating of 70 is just lukewarm.
Flake did have a 100% in the house. This was based on the key conservative issues.
He’s screwed us every chance he got since he got reelected
Debt ceilings, bailouts, guns, and now obamacare
Flake was good in the house. He “went native” before he was even sworn in the Senate.
