marktwain asked:
“Are you saying that you would rather that he let the dog attack his wife?”

Eaker replied:
“I'm sorry, I thought you were fluent in the English language.

Please copy and paste where I made that statement.”

marktwain replies:

I asked a question. I did not write that you made any statement.

I asked a question.

After reading my posts on this thread who other than you and Rachel Jeantel would even consider this a valid question?

Some people say there is no such thing as a stupid question.

You proved them wrong in spades.

If you accomplish nothing else this weekend you at least have that going for you.

Mister; you shoot and wound any animal, YOU TRACK IT AND KILL IT. Obviously you shoot a pussies gun (a 22) so you don’t have any bragging right to speak of. No MAN ever leaves any thing to suffer and die slow.

And I would call that *the* definitive post of this thread.

Nothing more need be added or subtracted.

Thank you, MEB.

Just to enlighten you a chest shot on any animal is not necessarily immediately lethal. I had to finally shoot the bear that was killing my livestock this last winter, I put a 30-06 round right in the center of his chest at about 1:45 am.
I had to track that bear through the snow for approximately 4 miles with a flashlight. Didn’t catch up to him until about maybe 10:30 or 11;00 am, he was still alive, bleeding and real pissed off when I put the second round through his head.

Yes, it happens, especially with frontal shots that miss the heart and only get one lung.

I was a wondering what state lets you hunt bear at night even with a livestock nuisance permit. What a great state you must live in, and if ya had a light most states only allow raccoon hunting at night with a light. Here if ya had that kinda of problem Fish and Game would trap it for ya. Please enlighten me. Wow and to track it at night too. Head down looking for blood track with a light. Wow in all the years I have treed bear, raccoon, and bayed pigs, with dogs never heard such a story you got balls of steel

I have heard that dogs are really handy for finding wounded game.

yep marktwain they are called mountain curs brought over by the first settlers, they are called curs because in the old days the rich were taxed on their dogs with long tails so the poor, curtailed( cut) their dogs tails so they would NOT BE TAXED. That’s why they are called curs. real good at finding game wounded or not. First American hunting dogs everyone should have a few. They don’t runs miles and miles like a hound. Real easy to hunt. Proud to have own them for more years than I can count. They will decoy coyotes, tree any game that will climb, blood trail, damn near make breakfast for ya in the morning. We own Kemmer Stock Mountain Curs here, Got some good German dogs called Jagdterriers that are real handy and smaller than a cur.

A lot of dogs are very good at tracking game I have had several labs I trained as blood trailers(tracking wounded game)

I don't even bother looking for a blood trail any more on a deer I hit when bow hunting. I just get the dog hook him up to his tracking collar and to the deer we go. He won't chase or track a non wounded deer,

He is a great bird dog also.

It is all about the training and the hunt drive in the dog.

O Dear, another anonymous rough-tough keyboard warrior shooting off his mouth without knowing the facts. Anything does this to my wife (thankfully no stitches) deserves to die slow - but didn't.

Besides being O-So-Tough (arms akimbo and stamping feet) you are evidently low on comprehension skills:
"He yelped and took off after Mr. Ruger planted a .22 hollow-point in his chest.” A point-blank hollow-point Stinger is not going to leave a flesh wound. Obviously you would prefer to leave a bleeding wife to track a mortally wounded dog to validate your over-inflated macho self-image.

Obviously you shoot a pussies gun (a 22)
Boy, then are YOU in danger! :-)
