Former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin said Friday that the McCain campaign in 2008 prevented her from talking about Barack Obama's controversial background or his lack of job experience for fear "the media would eat us alive."
Fox News's Greta Van Susteren responded by saying, "I think at some point [people are] going to look at us in the media and think we're just a bunch of fools. We don't have any credibility anyway"
SARAH PALIN: The only fans that aren't going to bail on this stall play that we're all observing is still the media, the mainstream media. They're going to stick with this because they're part of the problem, and it's going to be to the detriment of the profession of journalism, and it will be to the detriment of a free America as we know it!
And we saw what happened back in 2008 -- I believe that's when it started -- when the media decided to just go along to get along with Obama, ingratiating themselves with him and vice versa. What we saw was these attempts to destroy the whistleblowers, those who were telling the truth even in the campaign, those who were bringing up the name Jeremiah Wright and the racist church that he leads that Obama was a member of for over 20 years.

“Brilliant strategy. And we all saw how that came out.”
In a perverse way we (the conservative voters) were saved a McLame Presidency. Admittedly, FUBO is a Marxist crook, but a McLame presidency would have been like boiling a frog. We should be very thankful that he was not elected. He is mentally defective, and it’s just sad that he was able to drag Sarah Palin into his bucket of $h!t!
This explains why Republicans lost twice to Obama. The same characters were managing these campaigns.
And this explains why Tea Party Conservatives won so many elections.
“Its amazing to think that Reagan was governor of California. That state has become so Democrat you wonder if Reagan could get elected there today.”
No he couldn’t. Reason: 5million “new Mexican” voters.
Herein lies the problem with the GOP: LEADERS do not fear.
You hit the nail on the head.
Anyone who refused powed is someone worthy of having power thrust upon them by others.
Remember George Washington?
Liberals would have called him a quitter for only serving two terms and not 4+ terms like their demi-god FDR.....
Given how rabidly they attacked her children when politically she was no longer a threat more or less proves how rabid the libs and rinos would have gone after her had she gone for bear.
This is why one should always carry a recorder on themselves and install a call recording app on their phone, in case you get threatened, you can disclose the threat to the media, especially if you can goad the person making the threat into identifying themself.
“......you can disclose the threat to the media.”..
Isn’t that where the problem is, the “media”?
Do we expect they would do anything or report anything?
I think Not!
You cave because its too hard? The press will be mean to me. The Republican thought process is a losing proposition. Wimpy wimpy wimpy.
Palin is gutsy and smart but she did help McCain get re-elected, did she not?
We need to compile a list, for mass circulation before any Republican Party Primary, who has had a part in this sort of moral abdication of responsibility in previous elections. We need to see that those who advised this gutless surrender to those bent upon destroying our very way of life, are never connected to any campaign that wants our support.
This is about character failure, not ideology. One can change ideologically; but to completely founder in irrational fear, shows a functional incapacity, that makes one a liability in any campaign. The media can indeed be vicious; but they are basically ridiculous in their posturing sanctimony--and that can be dealt with by those who do not panic.
The McCain campaign was apparently being run by those who have no sense, no guts & with our help, no future.

EXACTLY!I suspected McCain’s reluctance to engage OBOZO when he banned Billy”A Great America”Cunningham from the campaign for having the tastelessness to ACTUALLY call OBOZO”HUSSEIN”!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Spot on. Logic dictates that nothing short of such a threat could have stopped her from running.
McCain’s Democrat team, Schmidt, Nichole Wallace, etc, FED HER TO THE JACKALS!!!!
McCain still works for Obama
Yes, they did, and McCain did NOTHING to stop it. He was too busy convincing America how great of a President Obama would be.
McCain’s team failed miserably, but it should not surprise anyone that he picked them.
I am not a conspiracy theorist, but I think the GOP Elite have a stranglehold on our nomination process and the media feeds it.
We usually have “the choice” of the elitists - a more moderate Karl Rove type Republicrat. They will push this guy and they are boosted by two facts - the first few primary states typically give the moderate more momentum and most damaging - the conservative candidates destroy one another over who is more conservative. They take the steady approach and one by one the conservative candidates are destroyed or destroy one another and their guy emerges the winner.
It will happen again in two years - mark my words. We will have several who try to be the most conservative candidate to capture the nomination and they will pick their guy ahead of time and he will emerge the winner. Conservatives are a picky bunch - the elitists moderate crowd is not. They pick one and we destroy many - even here on FR.
A few well-meaning conservatives on this forum have yet to recognize this - they pick apart the folks with the most conservative record over one or two issues ignoring that there are a 100 issues and they won’t ever find a perfect candidate. The Rovians pick their guy and stick with him no matter what.
We (Conservatives) will continue to lose the primary process until we stop destroying every candidate for some unattainable standard. Reagan would not and could not get the nomination today IMO.
Those 5 words tell the tale - - the establishment GOP is a pack of cowards.
And that is why I want absolutely nothing to do with the GOP. My checkbook remains slammed shut.
I agree.
In the campaign -- Greta, this is important for Americans to understand -- I was not allowed to talk about things like that because those elitists, those who are the brainiacs in the GOP machine running John McCain's campaign at the time, said that the media would eat us alive if we brought up these things.Schmidt, Steve -- former Romney campaign manager hired on to McCain's campaign. Along with Nicolle Wallace backstabbed Palin and destroyed her credibility for the GOP(e).
McCain never wanted to win. Not a shocker. Neither did Romney, IMO
