That’s what you get for building a ballpark on the ocean, Oil Can Boyd regarding Cleveland.

attacked by a group of young males in downtown Cleveland Hell, we weren't even treated to the normal codeword of "youths" to describe the attackers.

He was, however, cleared for action on Saturday, so it appears the attack won't have any lasting effects. Ah, good. So all's well that ends well.
I certainly hope these "young males" got that out of their system.

A group of young men minding their own business walking home from buying Skittles saw this creepy Cracka and just knew he needed a beat down to put him in place.
He didn’t even file a police report, he learned his place.

How did they know he was a professional athlete who was on the road.
It's a darn good thing this didn't happen to some hapless citizen who is not as physically fit as Schippers.

Are they suggesting that a hotel that has a major league team staying there doesn’t have either a late night cafe or room service? I don’t believe it. Something hinky about this story

In 46 appearances this season, Scheppers has posted a 1.74 ERA and a 1.88 K/BB ratio.Too bad Scheppers can't hit, because none of the other Rangers can.

Have you never left your hotel, to do a food run? It’s pretty common. Don’t start blaming the victim.

Something hinky about this story I'll take a crack. He was several sheets to the wind. Hence, his athletic skills were compromised and his judgment numbed.

Hence, his athletic skills were compromised and his judgment numbed. Pretty much describes the rest of the team, just like their coke-addled Manager.

I am not blaming anyone. When I have arrived at a hotel late at night (late night food run was the story’s description) I have NEVER left the hotel. Cleveland has the same type of reputation as Baltimore. In neither city did I leave the hotel a night.
There is something called common sense and a small bit of caution. It is not as if these cities have pristine reputations....haven’t for years

The Rangers have been Mastersoned.

OK, I see your point. When I go to Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, Calgary, etc. I like to go out for a walkabout at night. Never felt threatened. I'll head your advice, next time I'm in Cleveland though (not likely to ever go to Baltimore -- saw enough of it on The Wire). It's a shame how many U.S. inner cities have become wastelands. We have some problem areas here in Canada (downtown Winnipeg comes to mind); but, we don't have the same level of racial animus, nor have we had "white flight" from the inner cities.

The “Knock-Out Game” hits the MLB. Will the people ever be told that the “young males” are young BLACK males, and ALWAYS are?
