Romney says he might not have run in 2012 if Jeb Bush entered race

Had someone like former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush entered the 2012 Republican primary, Mitt Romney says he might not have entered the presidential race.

In an interview with Dan Balz for the Washington Post reporter’s soon-to-be released “Collision 2012: Obama vs. Romney and the Future of Elections in America,” Romney said that he would have seriously considered staying out of the presidential race if someone of Bush’s caliber declared his candidacy.

“I knew how grueling the process was, and I felt that there may be others who could be more effective in actually winning and then getting America on course,” Romney told Balz.

RE :”Gingrich wasn’t a dud,

Newt wasnt a real candidate, he was a cartoon caricature of one.

A perfect example: he had way too much baggage (lots of it liberal too) with a sad and weak record in house(his last real job).
Recall his sad ending in House was resignation in shame and then he became a media personality. Now he hangs out on ABC This week with the other dinosours.

Romney admits to being a stalking horse to keep a real Conservative from getting the job

Yes, and 'his protectors' obeyed that plan during the debates and voters were none the wiser what the deceivers were doing.

Romney: “I would not have run if an even bigger loser than me was running!
I mean, I only got %30 of the primary votes, if Jeb was running I bet he could have gotten at least 75 or 80% of the primary voters to vote against him
And all those conservatives running that kept beating me in state after state?
They actually had a chance to win, so I could not let that happen”

Romney was the worst possible candidate, but the GOP shot down all the possibles early on and he was the only one who had the personal money to go ahead. They would never have run Bush because of his last name, in any case, since the GOP itself had a bad case of Bush Derangement Syndrome (many people here still do).

That said, I don’t think that Bush or anybody, except possibly Newt Gringrich, who ran or was considered a possible candidate the last time around should be presented again. Obama has completely derailed our country and converted it into a hate-riven, quasi-socialist, ex-world power, and nobody who from the pre-Obama era would be capable of either understanding what needs to be done or doing it.

I say that Gingrich might be capable of it, because he’s really the only one who warned against Obama’s plans during the campaign. Romney spent his way slashing and burning through the other GOP candidates, but did nothing to take on Obama.

So far, however, I haven’t heard a single person come out with a program to retake the country or purge it of Obama’s leftwing poison, so in my opinion, I haven’t seen anybody yet who might be the right candidate for 2016.

Jeb Bush is completely folking unqualified and he let Terry Shiavo be murdered in his state on his watch.

True be dat... Jeb would have been a conservative hero if he stopped that awful starvation but he's just a milquetoast RINO and he knows it too. Romney or Jeb? some stellar choices ay GOP-e?

Now he's blaming his failed run on someone who DIDN'T run.

It was YOUR fault, Romney. Deal with it.

These candidates puked out by the Republicrat Party is enough to drive decent Conservatives into insanity!

We need someone with character and composed of the right stuff: we need an Andrew Napolitano.

Mitt, you are both prime losers from the Loser Party.

It makes zero difference which one of you ran or didn’t run.

IMO, it was curtains for the party in ‘08. How many times does one have to see to believe? Fool me once, shame on me; fool me twice, shame on you. It’s already been MORE than twice - NO conservative SHOULD HAVE been fooled in ‘12.

And they weren’t, so there are many who think they are conservative but aren’t for when push comes to shove, they will follow anyone. They failed the test.

Patriots voted for Newt and the results showed voters voted for ‘their flavor’ amongst the ‘assorted ones’- which had nothing to do with Our Country but a game plan.

This is a Romney’s payback to the establishment- setting up Bush as the defacto nominee.

Gingrich was probably the smartest and had the best ideas, but he just isn’t a natural born leader...

Yes, he went with what was ‘popular’ with NO CONVICTION to truth. He was offered an opportunity to shine but had no backbone for it. Remember, when we become defenseless he will roll over, he will bow to the enemy - outside and inside - and will help us to become defenseless before that because he NO conviction.

If he can’t be trusted in small things, he will not be able to be trusted in bigger things despite what comes out of his mouth to deceive.
