Drive to defund ObamaCare divides Republicans
FOX News ^ | July 29, 2013

Posted on 07/29/2013 12:20:53 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

An aggressive push by Tea Party lawmakers to defund ObamaCare is increasingly pitting Republicans against Republicans, as some party leaders and conservative pundits claim the goal is not achievable this year -- and could irresponsibly risk a government shutdown.

Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, and his allies in the Senate are trying to round up support for a pledge to oppose any budget bill that funds the health care law. They're emboldened by the administration's recent decision to delay a key part of the law, arguing the move shows it's not ready for prime time.

"Businesses don't like it. Individuals hate it. Union leaders say it will be bad for workers," Lee said on "Fox News Sunday." "The law is certainly not ready to implement, and we shouldn't fund it."

But the demand, if backed by enough lawmakers, could create an impasse in Washington -- risking the possibility that Congress will miss its Sept. 30 deadline for passing a budget and shutting down the government.

A number of GOP lawmakers have come out against the defund-ObamaCare campaign, claiming that while they'd like nothing more than to strip the law of its funding, the party does not have the numbers to deliver.

The Tea Party conservatives have the right ideas, but as usual, the RINOs are doing their best to foul it up.

De-funding Obamacare is what the Republicans ran on in 2010 and 2012.

Now they’re having second thought?

Don't worry, RINOs, the Dems won't let the government be shut down for long. Too many of their cronies would have to go without pay and perks for too long.

And if not this year, when? The longer you let Ocare go on, the less likely it will be Congress can defund or repeal it.

“A number of GOP lawmakers have come out against the defund-ObamaCare campaign”

Any FReeper could name these quislings from past performance and known Big Government tendencies.

It’s obvious the establishment Republicans are suffering from self-imposed battered wife syndrome—they’re scared to death of even mentioning “gooberment shut-down”, while Dhimms relish it.

And this involves a program that the people hate. So what WOULD the Republicans be willing to fight for? A new spa for the Senate Office Building?

The RINO’s who say now isn’t the time will never find the right time. Effectively they are supporters of Obamacare and enablers of the progressive agenda.

Here is the petition to DEFUND Obamacare:

“........but as usual, the RINOs are doing their best to foul it up.”

And the movement itself to defund Obamacare is so righteous, and a win win all the way for Republicans IF they were Republicans.

SHEESH!!! SHUT DOWN THE DAMNED GOVERNMENT. GO FOR IT!

This is where the men get separated from the weaklings and cowards. I have no doubt Free Republic will keep careful tabs on who is who, and work to flush the weaklings and cowards down the toilet where they belong. No more RINOs, no more “lesser of two evils”, and no more “holding my nose” in the voting place. I did not vote for Romney, and I will never again vote for a make-believe Republican.

There is a clear line in the sand.

Go, tea party! Go, Free Republic!

Some are spineless, some are progressives. Don’t forget that the progressive movement originated in the Republican Party and between Hoover and Goldwater all of the Republican presidential candidates fit that mold. As Rush Limbaugh has been saying, the Republicans run as conservatives but many, or even most, don’t vote that way.

Fact is that until recently both parties have run to the right of real beliefs of the candidates.

Rush just dealt with the RINO weaklings’ claims that to defund Obamacare won’t work because the funding is already built into the law.

He read from the Heritage Foundation website an item placed there July 12th. It says that claim is - shocker!- not true.

What is up for grabs in the continuing resolution is ADMINISTRATIVE funding for its implementation. The law entails gigantic administrative costs. Those were funded in the original act to the tune of about 1 BIL. But they have virtually spent out on that.

To continue implementation such as the exchanges and the IRS-involved costs etc they have to receive more funding as time marches on.

[The continuing resolution as proposed by Lee, Cruz et al is to pass a CR that funds everything EXCEPT a single dime to administer Obamacare. This would then cause the Dems to insist on shutting down the government rather than fund everything EXCEPT administering Obamacare.]

According to Heritage.

Via Rush.

I cannot abide these quislings who refuse to stand and fight.

Remember the Alamo!

SHEESH!!! SHUT DOWN THE DAMNED GOVERNMENT. GO FOR IT!

The Republcians can't do that because even though people who get up and go to work every day to support themselves and their families never really notice when the government is "shut down", the massive Democrat party base of moochers would soon find their snouts hitting the dry bottom of the public trough, and Republicans can't let that happen because then they will never get their votes...

Wait.
What?

ObamaCARE is Willard Romney's key legislation.

The GOP will NEVER remove ObamaCARE/RomneyCARE.

Why? THEY ARE EXEMPT.

Obamacare and Immigration Reform are shining a very bright light on the divide between the establishment types and the principled conservatives. We’re seeing who is on our side and who is not. And who to remove and who to keep.
