Another IRS scandal

Controversy swirls over the IRS's hassling of Tea Party and conservative groups who sought tax exemptions in recent years. [But compare] a similar episode some years back....

In the late 1960s ... the Ford Foundation’s leaders were “the Johnny Appleseeds of litigation liberalism, staking start-up money and sometimes longer-term funding” to create numerous public interest law firms, including the Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, the Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund (MALDEF), the National Women’s Law Center, the Environmental Defense Fund, and numerous others that would go on to force countless changes in Americans’ lives and laws.

"For a while, things were touch and go, because it was far from clear the new kind of law would be granted the highly preferential tax status its proponents sought. They wanted their efforts to be accepted under the rubric of “public charity,” just like the United Way. But looking for opportunities to sue people did not in itself sound like a particularly charitable endeavor"....

[The Ford Foundation got what it wanted.] Too bad the Tea Party folks didn’t have the white-shoe lawyers and the big foundation dineros on their side when they went up against the IRS.

Bottom line: When the Ford Foundation wanted to get tax-exempt status for far-left groups of lawyers suing the world into submission in the 60s, it beat the Nixon Administration. But when Tea Party groups asked for tax-exempt status just like everybody else, they lost to the Obama Administration.

No surprise here.
The Dems control the media. We hear and read what they want us to hear. If the conservatives and GOP want to run the country they have to convince the masses to vote for them. They have to have a BIGGER voice on the media.

Those conservatives of means in this country, if they want to invest in their children’s futures, had better start buying and controlling the Media!

So, where has Congressional oversight been for the last decade?

Why, all of the sudden, based on an erroneously sent email, are these scandals just coming to light?

Congress is doing as much CYA as the Executive Branch is.

The Ford and Carnegie foundations have an evil past.

Anyone who doesn’t believe me: Do some research.

The very existence of the IRS is a scandal. What it has evolved into is treachery on steroids - that’s why the Left loves it so much.
