(They don’t seriously think anybody is going to take them up on their offer, do they?)

The 0.2% of “homeless” that were going to leave anyway will enjoy the free $1000 for a one-way ticket.

It’s all about not following rules. I find it hard to comprehend myself - but some homeless folks don’t want to follow anybody else’s rules. On anything!

This is why they can’t hold down a job and when you can’t hold down a job - that means following other people’s rules to get back on your feet. This is harder than sleeping off the street and grifting off everyone else.

I took a friend in for awhile and learned quite a bit about the mindset. Never again will I do it. I offered them free room and board and assistance in getting their affairs in order so that they could become minimally employable and get back on their feet.

This worked - for awhile. Then I found out that my friend preferred living on the street when the rule, “come home every night” became oppressive. Sure - my place wasn’t the best - but they were safe and had food. It was heartbreaking for me.

One of my FB friends was whining about Hawaiian homelessness the other day, even had a photo — who TH would want to be homeless in some place OTHER than Hawaii?!? The EBT fed food cards are just as available and work just as well there.

Clearly, the other 49 states could easily solve most of their homelessness problem with one way tickets *to* Hawaii.

IOW, Hawaii, don’t even think about it.

Thanks Makana.

The Dims believe that welfare spending creates jobs. So why would Hawaii want to cripple their economy by deporting all the welfare moochers?

Most of the homeless in Hawaii have family in Hawaii and choose to be “houseless” for various reasons. And the homeless who are from somewhere else have probably learned to like living in so-called paradise.

Mahalo for the ping, SunkenCiv.

:’) If I were homeless, I’d stow away on a barge to get there. :’)
