42nd Abortion Clinic Closed This Year Due to Filthy, Unsafe Conditions

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services announced Wednesday that it has suspended the license of Femcare, an abortion clinic in Asheville, for two dozen serious health and safety violations discovered during a routine inspection on July 18 and 19th.

This action comes just two days after Gov. Pat McCrory signed a law that will require abortion clinics to meet the standards of an outpatient surgery center. Ironically, it was thought that Femcare would be the only North Carolina abortion clinic to meet safety standards under the new law, but it seems it that thinking was grossly in error. Femcare was last inspected 6½ years ago. The closure is not directly related to the new law.

This is the 42nd abortion clinic to close nationally in 2013. Clinic safety regulations have contributed to many of the closings. This number far eclipses the 24 abortion clinics that closed in 2012. Since 1991, over 70% of all abortion clinics in the U.S. have closed.

“This is a wake-up call for abortion supporters. What they thought was a clinic that could meet high standards ended up being one with practices so shoddy and conditions so dangerous that it is not fit to operate. Many abortion supporters fought to oppose the new law. In reality, they were fighting to keep abortion clinics dangerous,” said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman. “This is the reality of abortion clinics today. We have yet to find one that complies with all laws and safety codes. The public health would be best served if they were all closed.”

From another article (Link):

"Wednesday the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services suspended the license of the FemCare abortion clinic in Asheville after finding “egregious violations … that revealed an imminent threat to the health and safety of patients.”"

Since 1991, 70% of the abortion clinics in the U.S. have been shut down. Isn't that astounding?!

That does not, however, indicate a 70% reduction in abortions. Small clinics have consolidated, have been bought out by bigger ones; Planned Barrenhood is still in the process of building mega-fortresses of abortion.

But I've always maintained that, with or without repealing Roe vs Wade, the power to shut down clinics has always been in the hands of local communities.

Sometimes a back-alley abortuary operates in plain (and regulated) sight.

I guess it is hard to sweep little dead babies under the rug and hope that it remains unnoticed.

We have to consider those who operate them and frequent them. They don’t care about life, so cleanliness certainly isn’t a priority.

Imagine that, a law is needed to require cleanliness and they couldn’t even do that. Filthy mindsets produces filthy ways.

Thankfully, the clean and good minds fought for a way to close evil killing shops down.

It’s an encouraging report. Thanks.

Think about it.
The left has gone nuts trying to stop abortion clinics from having to meet basic standards of sanitation. That bears repeating: basic standards of sanitation. Now, that’s pretty damn right wing radical, isn’t it? Sanitation is a wacko political stand?

You are not almost dead - don’t say that. Say and believe what Jesus said, He came so you might have life and have it more abundantly. Evil came to kill/rob/destroy and his only weapon is deception. So one has to believe his words of deception for anything to happen.

If you are a materialist, your disgust for human life as propagated by black, muslim, young, and poor mothers, does not surprise me. It saddens, but it does not surprise.

Maerialists usually don't have any concept of human beings as having been made in the image and likeness of God, to be treated with reverential respect for their own sake, and the sake of their divine Maker.

I wish I had not read your remarks.

Buck up.

poor women have abortions and go out and do it again

The children they rear are less than desireable for a thriving and religious society.

No abortions means live births

It has nothing to do with materiaism ... it's fact.

This is nice ... but they shut one in Charlotte recently and it reopened the next week, having promised to follow the regulations from now on even though they never had in the past.

This is the tactic we should have employed 20 years + ago to close the abortion clincs.

This is the exact same tactic the left uses to stop every thing else. It's about time we gave them some of their own medicine.

This is like shutting down Dachau for being dirty rather than for engaging in mass murder. Oh well, at least it’s gone, even if it’s not for the right reasons. 42 down...the rest to go.

A statement that births to poor women produce children less desirable for a thriving and religious society,is false.

Who brought us legal abortion anyway? The panel of Supreme Court Justices who,in 1973, were none of them the sons of poor women.

Who brought us militant atheism? The poor?

Who brought us Internet pornography? Sex-tourism? The Universal Surveillance State? The Washington DC kleptocracy? Some of the highest-income people in the country.

Who are the "major corporate donors" who twisted the arms of the Boy Scouts to corrupt and deny their "morally straight" goals? Are they not the wealthiest people?

Who have made our TV entertainment into a sewer of materialism, imbecility and indecency? Do low-income people control Hollywood and Madison Avenue?

Who churns out the lies and the spin on network news?

Who are the heads of 300 of the Fortune 500 corporations whop have pro-actively rolled out the red carpet for gay employee benefits, even to the extent of having "sensitivity training" to indoctrinate their own management-level employees to favor perverse sex? Was this the poor?

Sin is endemic in all classes, and most powerful in the most powerful classes, who are not "the poor."

Abort all the poor and you will still have the massive corruption of America, plus the sin of abortion, which is unto death.

Mary, the mother of Our Lord, was a poor woman.

But you are in a state of vast discouragement, and this has tempted you to wish the poor could be killed before birth. I hope God will lift you from this discouragement of yours, because it must be a very painful place to be.

The abortion rate among women living below the federal poverty level ($9,570.) is per women (below 100% of poverty) is nearly four times that of women above 200% of poverty (112 vs. 29 per 1000 women).

Your final comment;

"But you are in a state of vast discouragement, and this has tempted you to wish the poor could be killed before birth. I hope God will lift you from this discouragement of yours, because it must be a very painful place to be."

Indicates you misread, thus mis interpreted, my original comment.

Which I now see you had gotten removed.

Closing abortion clinics will result in more unwanted live births.

THOSE children will NOT be nurtured because they were not wanted.

That was the gist of my comment and you somehow construed my indication those unwanted children would be born to poor women as opposed to non-poor as an offensive desire to kill them because they were poor.

What ?

We've been knowing for a long time, knarf, that poor women destroy their babies at a much higher rate than more economically secure women. It's economic conscription into the War on Kids.

Where we differ is the evaluation of this slaughter.

Abortion is not to be tolerated. It is murder.

You want to equivocate over that judgment, because these babies are presumably unwanted, thus if they were born they presumably would turn out badly, turn into discipline problems in school, turn into thugs, turn into Lo-Fo "idiotic" black voters. (I'm using your own terms here.)

I say these babies have as much right to live as you and me and the new Baby Prince of Britain.

We see human problems all around us. Let's attack the problems, not the humans.
