Colorado’s John Hickenlooper sarcastically shrugs off polling woes (Tancredo Tied ?)
Washington Post ^ | 2 August 2013 | Sean Sullivan

MILWAUKEE — If Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper (D) is worried about his reelection odds, he’s not showing it publicly.

“It seemed like I really had an unfair advantage,” Hickenlooper quipped after a Democratic Governors Association briefing here Friday afternoon. “The approval ratings were so high — it really didn’t seem even fair. So, we made a few strategic decisions to try to move ourselves back into play, forcing us to be on our game, a little more focused.” A June Quinnipiac University poll showed the first-term Democrat running neck and neck with Republican Tom Tancredo, a failed 2010 gubernatorial candidate and former congressman.

Hickenlooper’s decision to grant a temporary execution reprieve to a man convicted of killing four people appeared to hurt his once solid standing. A Republican poll conducted for Secretary of State Scott Gessler (R) also found Hickenlooper to be vulnerable. “If I lose, I go back to 14 weeks of vacation. I’m in a no-lose situation, right?” Hickenlooper said.

Tancredo has the integrity, intelligence, and honesty that the wimpy dorky Looper never had.

There are a LOT of hunters, gun lovers and retired military in CO. They are hopping mad at ChickenPooper. I hope they smoke them all.

It is not just the GOP voters who are mad. There are a lot of Dem voters in CO who are gun lovers or hunters.

Scott McInnis was the presumed Republican in 2010. He imploded because of some writings he did and money he received. Dan Maes was runner up, but he had problems from his past. Because we were basically left with no candidate, late in the season, Tancredo got in under third party. Dan Maes wouldn’t get out even though he had *no* chance of winning. Republican leadership wouldn’t/couldn’t back Tancredo. It was a mess, but Tancredo still got an incredible amount of the vote considering it was all messed up and he started so late. Praying for things to go differently in 2014.

But there are a lot of illegal insurgents that vote to give him “the edge”..

The military is not as conservative as it once was..

Let’s see if Republicans can not screw it up this time:

June 13, 2013:

http://www.nationaljournal.com/blogs/hotlineoncall/2013/06/poll-tancredo-ties-sliding-hickenlooper-in-colorado-13

Quinnipiac surveyed 1,065 registered voters from June 5-10. The poll’s margin of error is plus-or-minus 3 percentage points. Only 24 percent of respondents identified themselves as Democrats, nine percentage points lower than the share that turned out in 2010, according to exit polls. Still, the survey reveals that the governor is suffering with independents, 47 percent of whom disapprove of Hickenlooper, compared to 44 percent who approve. However, Hickenlooper actually lost independents to Tancredo in 2010, despite beating Tancredo by nearly 15 percentage points overall; the Republican ticket led by businessman Dan Maes captured only 11 percent of the vote.

It should also be said, that McInnis was found innocent of any wrongdoing (any ethics violations) and that the person behind the accusations was a, if my recollection is correct, a former employee/aid of McInnis who landed a DNC job after trashing McInnis’ reputation.

Although Wikipedia is not a friendly source, see their explanation of McInnis’ exoneration.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scott_McInnis

At the end of the day, it appears as if his downfall was a carefully organized plan by the DNC to “steal” an election.

I just love the use of the royal "we" or "us".

Sign of a massive ego and an indication of somebody who has no business being in public office.

Watch out for voter fraud. This is how they act when they know the fix is in.

Tom will always be a fringe candidate.

He blew his credibility by going third party, and destroying a good opportunity to beat the liberal.
