Do you have a gun in the house?

My solution to filling out medical forms is to keep up to date lists of my medications and surgical procedures on my computer. Any time I go to a doctor who doesn’t have that information, I print out both lists. Saves A LOT of time going through the initial paper work.

Our doctor has never asked if we have guns in the house. Maybe he just knows instinctively that we do. If he ever asks I think will ask him if HE has guns in HIS house. then my answer will be whatever he says.

"OK, Doc, did you play with your weiner this morning?" and "Just how often do you play with your weiner?"

... and so forth, with increasingly personal and embarrassing questions, until the doctor says,
"That's none of your business."

And you say to the Doc, "Well, there you have it."

My goddaughter is a surgeon at a local county medical center. Because thet are a county (government) entity, they are required to ask the question. She doesn’t, the nurses do. She said that you are not required to answer and that the only thing the nurses can do is write “no answer”.

If you just say NO, they “could” charge you with perjury or lying on an official document, just as if you told a cop no when asked if you are armed and he finds a weapon, you go to jail.

The constitution gives you the right to remain silent and refuse to answer. That is not an answer in the affirmative anymore than refusing to take the stand when on trial is an admission of guilt.

Not all docs are using the new forms, why waste what you have on hand? They are a business and those forms cost bucks.

Went to a new doctor today and was asked this question. Wouldn’t answer it. My liberal sister started reading stuff from the web saying it was not part of Obamacare. Oy.
