I wondered about this, but the GOP in congress are in on it so we are screwed.

It’s not an exemption. It allows the government to continue to contribute 75% of their insurance costs.
These bums are too clever by half. They aren’t exempted...it is just that the taxpayers will be paying any and all increases in their rates. Clever...no? A-holes!

GOP Republicans shamed Dems into adding to the O-care bill that congress must get their insurance through the exchanges like the others, to try to get them to vote against it for their own interest.
But given that it passed anyway and Dems won last year and no repeal in sight the GOP in congress made a deal with Dems to have Obama skirt it and bail them all out.
You wont see many if any in GOP congress talking about this I bet. Wont be critical of Obama for this.

So the aristocrats (congresscritters from both parties) get to make their staffs happy, while we, the peasants, get nothing from the deal?
One of the things I find interesting in this, is the statements about how all of them will leave to find something else if they’re forced into ACA. God forbid.
But, what I was hoping for was after they all left, couldn’t find a job, couldn’t get their jobs back, the American people would see just how useless all of them are. And in turn, see just how incompetent most members of Congress are, without the help of their staffers. We’d be saving lots and lots of money on salaries and bennies immediately.
The staff is supposedly gets low pay. They actually had the nerve to say that.
It sounds to me like Grassley got that in knowing all they had to do was get the taxpayers to keep paying the subsidies.
As for the authority, he doesn’t have the authority. I don’t have the authority to rob a bank but I can do it if nobody objects.
Lots of folks get low pay. And they’re not getting the taxpayer to foot the bill. As someone that worked in Baghdad, doing security for Congress when they visited, the behavior that these staffers displayed was sickening. I’m not talking about being drunken fools, that was the Congressman.
I’ve yet to encounter a group of people that kissed more ass and were treated like doormats in my life. It makes me wonder when I read bio’s of some of these guys where they state that they were interns/staffers when they were kids.
