Rep. Justin Amash (R-Mich.) said on Sunday that he believes National Security Agency leaker Edward Snowden is a whistleblower, not a traitor.
"He may be doing things overseas that we would find problematic, that we would find dangerous," Amash said on Fox News Sunday. "But as far as Congress is concerned, sure he is a whistleblower. He told us what we need to know."
Amash explained that although members of the intelligence committees were informed of the details of the NSA's surveillance, most lawmakers were in the dark about the programs.
"Without his doing what he did, members of Congress would not really have known about it," the Republican lawmaker said.

I was surprised and heartened that the Fox poll showed that 55% of Americans view him as a whistle blower.
I still have not heard of any classified data that he has exposed or any personnel that he has endangered. The Obama administration gave away more intel after the Bin Laden raid and special forces lost lives as a result.
I used to visit there and know what is going on. Washington DC and suburbs have a huge huge immigrant (from every place) population and this was true even 25 years ago and came to me as a shock.
They all want to be where the money is and Washington +suburbs is recession proof

Whistle blow all you want, fine, but don't go take tons of sensitive information with you out of the computers. At that point you are a spy and should be IMO shot on sight.

What makes you believe that anything will ever come out or be known as far as the criminality of these people? We already know enough.
I guess I just don’t realistically see anyone getting the justice they deserve. No one will be held accountable much less the truth come out. This is when people fear the government. No one was held accountable or brought to justice from the Soviet Union and won’t happen here either.
