House Republicans will take a carefully orchestrated, staunchly anti-Washington campaign to voters this month, blaming President Barack Obama and his fellow Democrats for Americans unhappiness with government.
Every day I serve in Congress, I work to fight Washington, says a suggested op-ed in a richly detailed planning kit distributed to all 234 House Republicans ahead of the August recess.
Running against Washington is an old strategy. Ronald Reagan summarized it only minutes after being sworn in as president in January 1981. In this present crisis, government is not the solution to our problem, he told the country. Government is the problem.

With everything the GOP has done over the past year on pushing amnesty and gun control and not fighting Obamacare and not cutting spending, stunts like this are just empty PR. And the party thinks its “base” is stupid enough to believe that they really do want to cut government and defend the borders and protect constitutional 2nd Amendment rights.
About time they do something!
This is how these “REPUBLICAN ESTABLISHMENT” treats the voters. In the front room, they are telling us how “HARD” they are fighting for us;IE OBAMACARE, IMMIGRATION, MORE TAXES, etc, etc, etc. While in the backroom they are making deals so as not to do anything about these “LAWS”, because it may “UPSET” everything they have been trying to do. Ask these “REPUBLICAN ESTABLISHMENT” who their biggest enemies are in Washington? It sure as hell isn’t the liberals, socialists and communists that call themselves “DEMOCRATS”. Their biggest enemies are the LIBERTARIANS, TEA PARTY, and all the other CONSERVATIVES that are making their lives very difficult. Wake up AMERICANS, it’s your own politicians that you elected that are screwing you every day of the week that they are in Washington.
About time they do something!
No, you “do something” at the office. For the elected GOP that would be engaging the rampaging Dems every week inside the beltway. What we have here is kenyan style do-nothing campaigning. Not impressed.
Suspicious timing to suddenly become conservative. Isn’t there something happening in August? Oh right, a recess where they are worried about facing their constituents over their amnesty...er, comprehensive immigration efforts. These guys are like welfare hustlers, if they actually spent half as much time fighting the Democrats as they spend fighting their base they would probably be very successful.
Beats them agreeing with Obama.
Plus when Obama does it it sends many here into a tizzy, so maybe it can work the other way.
Pelosi got the House in January 2007 but she played it very carefully, no blowing things up, and she got the big payoff January 2009 and passed Obama-care the next year.
I would feel better if they would talk less about it and do more. Seeing them trying to pass amanesty just because some rich contribiuutors are promising them $ if they agree to jump off a cliff is sickening.
Watching John Boehner or Eric Cantor or Mitch McConnell or just about any other Republican going before their electorate and saying "Every day I serve in Congress, I work to fight Washington with a straight face is about the funniest thing I can imagine.
Where is the push back on the Congressional employees getting 75% Obamacare subsidies. Where is the Republican outrage on this? Where is Boehner?
Except...they ARE Washington...
The GOP has squandered every opportunity it has had to “do something”.
Yeah, I don’t buy this for the simple reason that they haven’t said *what* they are going to change.
This comes across almost like Muslim apologetic, which when somebody demands they condemn a specific act of clearly Muslim terror, they won’t, instead “condemning all terrorism”. And then, when pressed, insisting that non-terrorism acts that Muslims don’t like are terrorism, and that terrorist acts that Muslims perpetrate on others are not terrorism.
In other words, it is why their eyes are brown.
So, Republican leadership, give us a list of what you are going to cut when you get power. Be specific, and definitely use as many pages as you need.
Here are some suggestions:
1) Purge all government agencies of bureaucrats who have violated the law, misused their office, abused members of the public with oppressive regulations, etc., while reversing every decision they made.
2) Slash the entire budget of several unconstitutional agencies, reducing them entirely. Don’t make a big issue of preparing to do it, so they can establish defenses and hire lobbyists. Just do it.
3) The best way to do this is to subdivide or rearrange appropriations bills so that the constitutional agencies are in some, and the metastatic cancer agencies are in others.
4) Purge all government agencies of bureaucrats who owe federal income taxes.
WTF?!?!
They ARE “Washington”.
That’s what kills me about these critters, both sides. They talk about “Washington” like it’s some nebulous life of it’s own.
They’re the reason “Washington” is what it is.
And as far as beating someone with a chair WWF style, yeah, I’m all for watching them pummel the sh*t out of either.
LOL!
All these whores are doing is try to score some 2014 points. It is all about THEM.
I agree!
There is a sinister nature to the Benghazi Massacre and the on-going Coverup.
For example, why has Speaker John Cave In Boehner opposed forming a Benghazi House Special Committee or appointing a Special Prosecutor, both with subpoena powers?
John Cave-In Boehner has proven for 4 + YEARS to be a failure as a REPUBLICAN Speaker of The House.
B. Hussein Obama has used Boehner as a discussion doormat, EVERY time!
This also calls into question why the Republican Members of The House have chosen to face the upcoming 3 week Budget Battle with a proven loser as their Speaker.
Has the desire by House Republicans to always lose become insatiable?
Why should ANY voter ever again vote for a Bi-Partisan, Cave-In, Welfare Republican, commonly called by the disgusting name of RINO?
Yes, it’s show business. They might look like they are angry at “Washington” but - shhhhhh - they really are “Washington.” Off camera, the guy who got hit by the chair and toted away on a stretcher miraculously gets up unharmed and kisses the other guy who “pummeled” him.

Boehner likes Obama, and has said so several times. He is killing any investigations that are currently being done.
Well said.
