Oprah Winfrey on Monday said the killings of Trayvon Martin and Emmett Till are the "same thing."
OPRAH WINFREY: "It's so easy during this time: Trayvon Martin, Trayvon Martin parallel to Emmett Till, let me just tell you. In my mind, same thing. But you can, you can get stuck in that and not allow yourself to move forward and to see how far we've come."
Really? Martin and Till are the same thing?
As race baiters in the media have been dishonestly making this claim since the George Zimmerman verdict was announced, let's take a look at what happened to Till almost 60 years ago and why it is shameful for folks to make such a comparison.
In 1955, Till was a fourteen-year-old boy from Chicago visiting his relatives in Money, Mississippi. He spoke to a 21-year-old white woman named Carolyn Bryant who was the wife of a grocery store owner in the town.
Several nights later, Bryant's husband Roy and his half-brother J. W. Milam went to Till's great-uncle's house, kidnapped Till, drove him to a barn where they proceeded to beat him, gouge out one of his eyes, shoot him in the head, and dispose of his body in the Tallahatchie River with a 70-pound cotton gin fan tied around his neck with barbed wire.
Does that even vaguely resemble what happened to Martin?
Of course it doesn't. Not even close.
But liberal media members have been shamefully making this case for weeks further dividing our nation along racial lines.
I’m so sorry Black America. The rest of White America is so, so over this Trayvon thing. He was a punk with no future, now his future is certain. Move along.
These low information protesters don’t evem know who Emmitt Till was. Not sure they will make the connection.

I believe that he is being recommended for sainthoody. Like I said, actions have consequences. His actions led to his death. Period. It would have been a lot easier if he’d just gone on the his dad’s gf’s place and delivered the watermelon drink and skittles to whoever he was supposedly getting them for. And, yes, a whole lot of us are getting tired of the okra wimpy’s and smiley cyres’s and rusty simmonses telling us how it was. They have less of a clue than anyone. By the way, good job raising smiley there billy ray.

Oprah has done some good things
but she destroys any credibility for intelligence with this kind of narrow minded trash
and they all disparage Emmitt Till - if he was the victim history claims him to be. No longer believing any myths of victimhood

Oprah has been billed as this brilliant entrepreneur and example for the black community. I’ve never followed her or cared until she got into politics. Whites made her rich.
Now we are shown hers was a folly too? Who knew Oprah was racists especially given her original following?
Oprah is just another person in this country who hates me for being a conservative, christian, white, hardworking, (formerly successful), husband and father to an intact family.
If it had gone on the black guy would Emile Griffith and the Hispanic would be Benny Paret. This is really getting to be nuts.

If she has trouble differentiating the circumstances of Till & Martin it is because her mind is still overcrowded because “she thinks of the “millions of people who heard that as their last word as they were hanging from a tree.”
“Her count may be off a bit, however; as Breitbart reported, Tuskegee Institute historians say that about 3,446 blacks were lynched in America between the years of 1882 and 1968.”
I guess she spends no time at all thinking of the 1,297 whites also lynched during that period.
