Congress Exempt from Obamacare in Last-Minute Deal
CBN News ^ | 5 Aug 13 | CBN

Senators, representatives, and their top aides will be able to stay under the current subsidized health care system.

That means they will continue to get a taxpayer-funded contribution to help pay for their health care premiums.

A last-minute deal worked out before Congress went on their five-week summer vacation gets lawmakers out of the original language of Obamacare, which said members and their aides had to use its health care plans.

Republicans like Sen. David Vitter of Louisiana slammed the move, calling it a "behind-closed-doors deal, announced right after Congress is safely away from the crime scene."

"This is exactly why America rightly hates Washington," Vitter charged. "Obamacare's a train wreck, even for Congress. So it gets fixed -- for Congress only. What the flip about fixing it for America?"

There already doing these things...just not attached to Obozocare yet.

The animal shelter raided by armed agents, the Amish dairy raided by armed agents of the FDA, Gibson Guitar co. raided by armed agents for the type of wood they used on a guitar...and on and on.

When they roll in, they look like some sort of military force or something....way way outta line.

Right. They will fine and or imprison you for noncompliance. No one can escape the IRS unless you go underground which is not easy to do, e.g. Galt. However I refuse to cut off my nose to spite my face. I will continue my standard of living as long as I can. Of coourse my company is still paying most of my healthcare ... Thus far. :-)

You are correct. This was a fast move by nobama and without Congressional approval, other than maybe all the dem Congress-critters behind closed doors.

It was “announced” just as Congress was recessed and the WhiteyHut’s intention was to smear conservative Congress-people with the implication they were in on some secret deal.

Jeeze, from looking at some FR responses, it was a good smear plan against conservatives.

Less doctors and hospitals won’t make any difference due to Death Panels.

This got support from republicans. There were many republicans claiming that their "staffers" couldn't afford it any other way. I'm pretty sure I read a statement in one of the articles I looked at in which Sen. Tom Coburn says essentially that very thing.

Nobama suckered you in did he?

Do at least some minimal research before spouting off the WhiteyHut’s talking points.

Back up your claim with names and verifiable information on conservative Congressmen who did this. Otherwise its just nobama smear talking points to smear conservatives.

Which comes first? Death Panels result in the “do no harm” docs quitting, so the need for hospitals is reduced. It’s a process, y’know....

You better do something NOW!

That train pulled out of the station long ago, My FRiend. The time to hit the streets was 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012. The supporters, 25-35 year olds are starting to cry now. Just wait 20 years down the road when they reach 55 and 45. The more they cry, the happier it makes me. When I tried to tell them what was going to happen, they let me know right quick that I was full of shit. Now I am a sorry bastard because I am laughing at their misery.

Know what time it is, because chains and then mass graves are our near future if we wait much longer to resist this crap.

Huh? According to you, 100 to 1 odds mean nothing against Obama's war machine, so what's the point?

Know history.....

You want to invoke history? Glad to oblige.

During the Iraq war, no more than (an estimated) fifteen thousand jihadist fighters tied up the entire American military for TEN long years. We did not achieve a crushing, definitive, and lasting victory there. We left that country without achieving anything approaching a complete capitulation of the enemy. No sooner had we left, than the radical Islamists again began to take control.

And you seriously believe that some misguided, dictatorial President can achieve real victory against an armed population of 100 Million of his own citizens??

You're paranoid and completely overwhelmed by a bunch of cowardly cretins who don't have the power to lay a finger on you in a real fight.

We should all exempt ourselves. They can hire 50,000 new IRS agents and still can’t arrest us all.

Nor the cells to keep us in.

Gulags or concentration camps, I imagine, would be their only recourse. And ovens.

If the people go Lexington and Concord on them, I doubt they'll be rolling up on anybody so boldly.

The ACA specifically does not exempt Congress and its staff, this deal is illegal. If the law does not apply to them, then it should not apply to us.

Yeah, didn’t Cornyn put an amendment on the Senate side to force Congress and fed workers to join?
