Police are investigating three possibly related attacks on people by teens on bikes in and around Edgewood Park.
The Independent reported Thursday on one such incident, which occurred around 5: 30 p.m. on Friday July 26 along the asphalt road that connects the parks duck pond to the skateboard rink. A 63-year-old jogger was partway along that road when, he said, four teens on bikes rode passed. One turned around, rolled a bike at him to knock him over, then knocked him down again when he got up. The teens proceeded to punch and kick him, breaking an arm and cutting open his forehead, before fleeing. They didnt seek to rob him.
On Friday, another Edgewood Park jogger related a similar incident to the Independent. Like the other jogger, he asked to remain anonymous.
This jogger had entered the park at Ella Grasso Boulevard and Chapel and started running down the hilly road toward the duck pond between 1:30 and 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 21, he said. Hes been running in the park for five years, he said; never before had he had a problem.
It was hot out; he had on shorts but no shirt. Four teens on bikes came zooming down the hill behind him, passing close to his body.
One of the teens held out his arm and struck the jogger on his neck. I could tell from the way the kid hit me and looked at me, he expected me to go down, the jogger said.
He didnt fall. The kids rode ahead. The jogger kept running and came upon them under the bridge below Edgewood Avenue.
Three of the kids, whom he described as between 13 and 15 years old, moved behind him. Hows your neck? they taunted him. Whats that on your neck? They had beat-up bikes, he said; two of the bikes were girls bikes.
The kid whod tried to clothesline him moments before stood in front of him. No one else was around. He had jeans and a black shirt. He was heavyset. He could have had a weapon. The jogger decided it wasnt smart to confront the kids, so he turned around and jogged back toward the pond. More people were there. The kids rode off and didnt bother him any more.
The jogger went home and called the cops. Three officers arrived at his home; one took a report.
Sgt. Al Vazquez, the police departments chief of detectives, said the department received a report about a third incident that occurred within the same time frame several blocks from the park, at Ella Grasso Boulevard and Derby Avenue. A witness called police to say that a group of teens on bikes had ridden past a man, knocked him to the ground, then started beating on him. The victim fled; he never contacted police. Nor did police find a report of a beating victim entering the hospital for treatment.
Vazuez said the incidents appear to be related. Detectives have no leads yet but are actively investigating the cases, he said. He asked anyone with information to call the detective division at 203-946-6304.
The incidents do not appear to have approached the magnitude of the recent bloodying of a New Haven Power Sports technician on Goffe Street.
I think Venturer just forgot the /sarc tag, puppypusher...
Fled???? Fled ?????
You mean white people in Yankee Connecticut have fled because of blacks??
Just doesnt sound right after the Yankees toss out all of the racist allegations they can at Southern States.
You really mean they actually fled?
Fact is partner I have seen flights like this since the 50s. And the liberals who shouted the loudest about the racism of other whites are generally the first to get their houses on the market.
Doesnt change their liberalism though.
Sure they flee. They cannot stand what they push on others.
Yea!I fled after living there my entire life up till 1980.Prior to that I had the Joy of attending the New Haven Public School system,Where everyday was a fight for survival.Because The thugs,a certain racial minority would attack you for your lunch money.
Otherwise they would attack you just because you weren’t one of them.
I came from a relatively poor family that didn’t have the means to leave so We had to live through it every day.The assaults,Vandalism.I still recall it like it happened yesterday.
Do I don’t need to hear from some minority of the indignities they may have suffered, when I have suffered enough of my own from that same minority.
“my cane has a sword in it.”
Another very good option, and scary as 4ell too! But illegal.
You poke a guy with a lead cane and you’ll bust his ribs, smash his spleen, etc. Will break arms and jaws easily. And it’s legal.
I know where you are coming from Brother, and I feel your pain.
I have been run out of two places by the shadow.
The right to keep and bear ARMS shall not be infringed....
Swords are arms. Stupid knife laws are slowly being rolled back.

Glad to hear the situation is under control! [/s]
You copied someone else’s post into your reply, and I can’t tell your response from theirs.
It helps to italicize, or use simple quotation marks to highlight the other person’s words.

then the social contract is dissolved and it falls to We the People to provide for our own common defense.
...and then you will be eliminated by Society, quickly, and without compunction...
They cannot stand what they push on others.
...while we’re on the topic of people pushing stuff on others, let’s talk about those landowners trading on the booming cotton industry who, finding themselves in dire need of cheap labor, decided it would be a keen idea to import Stone Age tribesmen as slaves, rather than pay a nominal wage to migrant farm workers...they then proceed to withhold any civilizing activities from these tribesmen, and then end up, as any fool could have foreseen, having to free them, having no work left for them to do...and these primitives are thus dumped onto the civilization at large...
...the results are quite predictable, as we have been seeing them play out for many decades now...
And who exactly is “Society?” The feral slugs assaulting and murdering innocent citizens with impunity? The ineffective, cowardly “guardians” we’ve entrusted with our lives and safety? The liars and traitors who hold our throats open to our predators? You?
Come eliminate me. It may be without compunction but it won’t be quick. Remember, I’m part of “society” too. And I’m not alone.
The 63 year old in the story is the good friend of a friend. Poor guy wouldn’t hurt a fly, just out jogging like he’s done for years. The man’s arm is really damaged, broken in several places. He had to have surgery to repair the damage.
Another story quoted the cops as cautioning people to “be aware of their surrounding.” Like that would stop the feral animals!!
New Haven’s had problems with young kids on bikes stealing cellphones and mugging people downtown for the past few years. I only go there when I have to .
It’s just a game for these “teens.” - meaning: they have no respect at all for the rights of White people. they are uncivilized savages.
The victim noticed the bikes were beat up girls bikes, but didn’t “notice” the race of the attackers. (What a joke. Of course the victim noticed, told the police, which told the press which suppressed the information)
Then you didn't live where I did. From the age of 3(1945) to age nine(1951), I lived in Bell Gardens CA, one of the roughest areas around and it is worse today. I learned what the words High School kid,Pachuko, Mexican and gang meant. Blacks were kind of scarce then but I understand it is full of them now.
We carried BB guns and Sling shots(commonly known as N****r shooters in that time period)made of wood and inner tube rubber. Our pockets were full of rocks and BBs. We quite frequently used both bbs and rocks to defend ourselves from High school kids, Pachukos(same as Mexican)and other gang members, who thought the best part of their day was beating up on grammar school kids.
I hit more than one Pachuko in the face with a rock or bb and didn't feel bad about it at all. It was self defense and neccessary to our survival.
Some mothers wouldn't let their boys(girls at that time seldom ventured far from home)carry bb guns or sling shots but quickly changed them mind when their kids ended up in the hospital or came home a bloody pulp.
I learned a valuable lesson living there, and that is my life is worth more than the life or health of some idiot who wants to hurt me. I am 71 now and have a CCW(yes there are counties in CA where you can get them)and carry every where, I will not hesitate to shoot if the need arises. I won't like it but I will do it.
However, to stay with the point of your comment, we never hurt anyone just for the heck of it, nor broke anyone's property or took anything that did not belong to us.
We owned bicycles because they were necessary, sometimes we could ride away from trouble before it became critical and saved us from having to use violence. We never used them to hurt people.
I am with you. If we had it all to do over I would place ships all over the Ocean to sink every slave ship that appeared.
In fact I would have invaded Africa and sank every New England and Dutch slave ship to stop the slave trade., and I would have shipped back ever person brought over here against their will. I say send them back now if they want to go.
I would have hanged any slave owner who bred with his female slaves ,or who bred them to other blacks.
These slave owning sons of bitch’s and their cheap labor placed a cancer in this country and we are still paying for it today.
Today we have to stop the new slave owners who would look for cheap labor and stop the Hispanic immigration.
Yes sir pal I am with you 100%. It was stupid then and it’s stupid now. Primitives in the form of illegal immigrants need to be sent home ASAP. Let their home country educate them and care for their health.
We are in complete agreement.
Okay, what I meant was even the tough kids didn’t attack innocent bystanders. There were gangs in my town who fought each other...and often very roughly sometimes with bats and chains. But adults were not involved. No adult had to worry about being savaged by a bunch of punks.
