An opening for Elbert Guillory? I would like to see that race.

Doesn’t live in the district.

All the hoopla over Guillory is misplaced. At best he’s a RINO. At worst, an opportunist. He’s never had a particularly conservative voting record in the Louisiana Legislature all the while he was a Democrat.

Another chance to get a real conservative in there.

Turncoat Rodney is gonna turn in his coat?

Cereally, he's voted conservative for the past 25 years now. However...

He's been ignoring the calls for impeaching the Indonesian for the last 5 though.

I had heard some while back that Neil Riser was putting his name out for the job.

Is he going back to Jackson Parish, or is he staying in Washington? Will he again endorse Mary Landrieu?

Why did he insist on keeping separate districts for nearly neighboring Jackson and Webster parishes in redistricting and thereby kill the chance of Jeff Landry if he was staying only one more term?

I look for him to move back to North Louisiana. Maybe buy a house at Squire Creek, where his brother lives.

This piece of human flesh has voted against our Constitutional rights.
He voted to continue funding the NSA, voted down the Amash amendment, and refused to show up at his weekly radio call in, the next day.

I called his local Alexandria office, and informed them of
my disgust of his disregard for the Bill of Rights in his funding the NSA vote.

His office sent me “a canned letter” defending his decision.
Not one word of personal rights protection, was in that letter.

Now, with his decision not to seek a fourth term,
it is time for a rabid conservative to be put in that seat.

“Doesn’t live in the district.”

Elbert Guillory is from Opelousas, which is in the LA-05 since 2012:

http://www.ourcampaigns.com/ContainerDetail.html?ContainerID=456

“All the hoopla over Guillory is misplaced. At best he’s a RINO. At worst, an opportunist. He’s never had a particularly conservative voting record in the Louisiana Legislature all the while he was a Democrat.”

Actually, his record in the legislature was *very* conservative for a Democrat, particularly one representing a black-majority constituency. http://votesmart.org/candidate/key-votes/75837/elbert-guillory

So I think that Guillory should run in the LA-05. I don’t know enough about Riser to judge whether he’d be a better congressman than Guillory, but LA has that jungle primary even in congressional races, and there would be a good chance that Guillory and Riser both make the December runoff, so the voters can sort it out then.

I know Neil Riser. I served on the GOP State Central Committee with him.

I will likely support him.

That’s great and, as I said, maybe he’d make a better congressman than Guillory. But I just wanted to make clear that Guillory is a conservative and lives in the district.

Au contraire, he was never even really a democrat, he clowned those fools!!

I hope he seeks this or some other important office.

As for Rodney, he was the RINO. Good riddance.

Just learned at coffee this morning that he has bought a house here in Ruston, and is in the process of remodeling it. Presumably, he will live here. He had previously called Quitman, LA his home.

Alexander is resigning early to take a job in Jindal’s cabinet. Special election forthcoming.
