22-year-old Jared Alexander said he was wearing a hoodie at a Boynton Beach mall when a security officer asked him to take the hoodie off.
When he refused, other security officers showed up. Alexander said, Why are you guys harassing me? Im not stealing. Im not going to take my hoodie off.
After a few minutes, he says, he had to go to work and so he left. He was met outside by police. Alexander says they handcuffed him and questioned him.

On second thought I hope hoodie-wearing Trayvon-types boycott the malls...ALL of them.
From Your Lips To God’s Ear!
and AMEN!
They will now hold a Trayvon March on the Mall, thousands of hoodies...
Why harass him? He was only doing his best impression of Trayvon. Cut him some slack. /s
Take off the hoodie. Pull up your pants. If the laws against indecent exposure are ever going to be enforced among Afro-Utes, we had better start building tent jails like Sheriff Joe's.
I can’t think of a good reason to wear a hoodie indoors, unless you’re trying to hide your enormous ears or something.
West Palm Beach in the summer is warm and humid, so the guy wore the hoodie not out of necessity, but as some kind of fashion statement, which may have been malevolent.
We teachers in California have had a terrible time with those damned hoodies — kids mostly want to hide earphones for their iPods or hide their identities when they were running in the halls during classes —our halls now have cameras and there are cameras around the outside areas too. If there is a fight at lunch (a not uncommon occurrence), it’s hard to identify the perps if they’re wearing hoodies.
Same thing as in Florida — it’s mostly warm here in So Cal and there’s NO reason to wear a hoodie when it’s 85 degrees out.
A few years ago there was a “new” hoodie that appeared that zipped up all the way in front of the kid’s face — black mesh covered the face— immediate ban at school. Didn’t stop the kids from wearing them or bringing them to school.
Problem is, in many cases of inappropriate dress, including the “little whore look” that is so popular with the girls these days — the parent is more than likely to back up the kid and not the school.
One girl wore an OBSCENE T-shirt to school last semester — parent was called and she said “yeah, isn’t it great! I bought it for her!!”
This attitude with parents is common.
Now I am confused!!!
I thought ‘WE’ were supposed to be boycotting Florida.
Would someone please straighten this out? It is very confusing.
Just because you LIVE there, doesn’t mean you don’t have to boycott....
This kid was looking for this kind of confrontation so he could play the racial profiling card and sue someone. No one in their right mind wears a hooded sweatshirt in 90+ heat.
Hooded sweatshirts have become the fashion standard for B&E “artists”, home invaders, smash & grab thieves, and bank robbers because they are effective in helping to conceal a person’s face and head.

If young, innocent black men don’t want to profiled, don’t dress like someone that fits the profile of a thief. It’s just that simple.
Go trolling for trouble you’ll find it. 4-5 years ago there was a gang shooting in that mall on Christmas Eve day. And there’s been car chase/shootouts along nearby Seacrest ave. Could be no intent but more likely meant to antagonize/make a “statement” then complain about it. Dude should just wait till the whole hoodie thing dies down instead of being a prick.
Or hiding hideous hair or a zillion zits on your neck.
I bet that parent was "mommy dearest." I can't think of too many dads (excluding stepdads here) who would allow their young daughters to wear the "little whore look."
Mom is too stupid to live. If dad did allow it, he needs to take the dad-test.
I’m with you. They should all “boycott” all malls across the nation. That’ll show ‘em! ;o) And that goes for Steven Wonder too!
The guy probably bought the hoodie at the mall.
Look at the videos of the Flash mob thieves, they wear Hoodies too.
"Those People" have every right to wear whatever they want, but the malls
and business' also have the right to boot your asses out for doing so.
It's private property not Gov Housing.
Can't call them Black, Negros, or anything else so it's "Those People" now.
How do "Those People" like their new identity now.
What dads?
Huge numbers of students now either have a single-parent mom or the sick situation of mom’s live-in boyfriend in the dad role.
Children of intact families are the anomaly now in Southern California.
We’ll find THAT mall — like so many others that have been ruined for the same reason — on dead malls.com.
The Hawthorne Mall in California was built in a black area and then over-run by Trayvon Martin types who shoplifted, terrorized customers, fought each other in the food court and hung out all day — who knew this would be the result? Yeah, Brilliant idea.
I feel sorry for merchants who are trying to make their businesses work— when suddenly a brand new extension of (any given city’s) metro leads from the ghetto straight to the front door of the mall delivering violence, crime and mayhem — and bankruptcy to your business.
I don’t know what the fuss is. I had to take off my shoes, hat and belt to get on a plane. Should I boycott or sue?
Shaking my head with disgust, thinking how in the world her mom let her put of the house, dressed like a tacky version of a "working girl," when she calls out, "Mom.....?"
Then I think, aha, finally my chance to confront the woman who allows such a child to look like a "hooker in training."
Mom, was an older version of her daughter, low-cut, midriff-bearing top, cut off worn jeans so short that part of her derrière hung well below, stilettos, tattoos on both shoulders and calves and to top off that ungodly sight, were two bolts in her nose!
I kid you not, this woman belonged in some cheap side show on the boardwalk somewhere.
If one could ever get beyond her ridiculous clothing, tattoos and piercings, she wasn't truly ugly, just looking like she was waiting in line for the Jerry Springer Show!
I thought to myself, I'll just bet she voted for Obama - twice!
