Some journalists have urged caution when using “plantation” rhetoric when reaching out to potential voters. But generally speaking Guillory’s points are well-taken. It’s simply unacceptable for an entire community to vote almost exclusively for one political party when there are in fact two in this country. Have African-Americans really benefitted so much under Leftist policies and ideas that they’re unwilling to hear new ones? No. Guillory argues that “the values of the Republican Party far better represent the values of the black community.” I don’t doubt that’s true. But Republicans need to do a better job communicating those values -- especially with audiences wholly unfamiliar with them.
Although he was criticized for it, it reflects well on Senator Rand Paul that he was willing and able to go to Howard University last April to speak to a less-than-enthusiastic audience about Republican principles. Why aren’t more pols doing this? Conceding the black vote to Democrats is not only defeatist and cowardly, but a missed opportunity. Of course, some argue that the party should change in order to win elections. But Elbert Guillory doesn’t believe that’s true. And neither do I. What we need is more eloquent, passionate and courageous spokesmen and spokeswomen. Solving that issue, I think, would go a long way.

Liberals really hate when black Republicans use the word plantation to describe the democrat party.
It will take a while to break thru to get the truth to blacks. The Dems havevlied to them for decades about its history of supporting racism and its involvement in the creation of the kkk.
My best friend is a Black Conservative, who calls himself a “Frederick Douglass Republican”. The abuse he has taken for that over the years, from other blacks, is simply stunning, and would make you turn red in anger.
Remember folks, THESE PEOPLE ARE A DANGER to the Democrat status quo, and must be destroyed. There are many like him in the black community, but few dare to speak out, because the backlash is fierce and personal.
When a “Journalist” warns about using “Plantation Rhetoric”, it means that it is effective, and he fears losing his job if he dares to report it. look what happened to Pizza guy.
If these guys are legit, I praise them...if they are pro-life and pro-liberty, I may very well help fund them.

Good luck getting the Republican Party to persuade minority voters with their better ideas. The Republican Party’s approach to minorities is to persuade them Republicans are just like Democrats. I applaud the effort, but doubt the outcome.
In regards to black voters, whether or not plantation metaphors are appropriate, the Democrats own them. There may be a few runaways, or a few blacks who have never suffered the yoke of the Democrats, but they are an insignificant part of the black demographic, and shunned as such. The resisters are cultural, political heroes, and the Republican Party insults them by emulating Democrats.
He mentions family values and gun ownership among other things in the video but haven’t found anything yet in writing.

Yes, the GOP-e are very little different than lib Dems, would be more encouraging if Guillory talked Conservatives rather than Republicans.
It’s hard to make people who have learned to live on the pittance the government gives them believe that they will be better off with a good job in a good neighborhood.
