'I was expressing my frustration with the high cost of living in New York': Top Lacoste salesman is fired after posting his paycheck on Instagram

A top salesman at Lacoste's flagship New York store has claimed that he was fired for posting a picture of his paycheck on Instagram.

Wade Groom, from Brooklyn, New York, told Gothamist that he was merely 'expressing his frustration' with the expensive cost of living in New York, not with Lacoste in particular, when he shared a zoomed-out image of his pay slip.

Crap, try Toronto.

This place is so freaking expensive it is unreal. I would go to NYC just to get a meal at a reasonable price.

Great catch. What a whiner.

If he didn't like what he was being paid, he could have looked for a better paying job. Well, I guess he solved that particular problem. :=)

It would be interesting to find out what his political affiliations are. When I lived in NYC, I would hear complaining constantly and then election time would roll around who do they vote for? A liberal ‘rat. That’s why I got nooo sympathy. I mean check out the latest polls for Mayor: Christine Quinn and Anthony Weiner top of the polls. A lesbian communist and a guy who likes to throw pictures of his weiner on the net. F them.

See post #3. Apparently, he's being paid enough to be able to send $1250 to the DNC. That's enough to tell me what his politics are.

.......outside of government, there are only TWO kinds of jobs...............# 1 you are a salesman # 2 you work for a salesman.

Obviously this man is a good salesman. Someone will snatch him up overnight.

Well, any company that doesn't mind being humiliated publicly by one of its employees anyway.

Bailed out of New York 18 years ago for sunny Florida! One of the best decisions I have ever made in my life.

My salesmen worked for me, since I signed their checks. But you are correct, outside of the gub’mint, I was just a moocher who didn’t build that, and never had a real job. I just showed up and became an owner fat-cat by fiat, who exploited the true workers of his company...

and... yes, a good salesman is worth is weight in gold or diamonds, take your pick.

Someone will grab him.

Many in NYC are between a rock and a hard place; they don’t want to pay an arm and a leg for things, but see high prices as a means to keep the area “white”. I know people in northern NJ who do the same.

That is what he gets for living in Gotham. A ego thing, so let him swim or sink.

So true. I meet Northeast hedge fund guys who pocket 6 to 7 figures and who complain about high taxes and Dodd-Frank yet still vote Marxist “because other issues matter, too.” EF them.

Sure, publish your employer’s bank routing and account number to the world - what could possibly go wrong?

I always thought that the people who live in large cities, especially NYC, must be insane....

Maybe, this is a clue.

Ever since I was a kid I though it was completely insane that we have to work all our lives.

Man must work to survive. Now, it's true that a lot of people don't work in our modern welfare state, but someone else still has to get up early and go to work for them. That and the fact he won't leave NYC are good political affiliation indicators.
