Obama administration using housing department to compel diversity in neighborhoods
Fox News ^ | August 7, 2013 | Doug Mckelway

In a move some claim is tantamount to social engineering, the Department of Housing and Urban Development is imposing a new rule that would allow the feds to track diversity in America’s neighborhoods and then push policies to change those it deems discriminatory.

The policy is called, "Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing." It will require HUD to gather data on segregation and discrimination in every single neighborhood and try to remedy it.

HUD Secretary Shaun Donovan unveiled the federal rule at the NAACP convention in July.

"Unfortunately, in too many of our hardest hit communities, no matter how hard a child or her parents work, the life chances of that child, even her lifespan, is determined by the zip code she grows up in. This is simply wrong,” he said.

Data from this discrimination database would be used with zoning laws, housing finance policy, infrastructure planning and transportation to alleviate alleged discrimination and segregation....

What makes them think I’d tell them any demographics about them members of my household? If coerced, what makes them think I’d tell the truth?

The day that human garbage was elected to the office of President.

Literally.

The guy is trash, and his ilk and other assorted forms of dreck only seek the complete and total ruination of this Country.

A project on every block. Why don’t they just parcel out our housing assignments and have done with it?

Is HUD going to help me move to a nice, clean, safe neighborhood?

No, their plan is to eliminate "nice, clean, safe neighborhoods" so you don't feel so bad.

I think it has more to do with turning red areas of the country purple or blue due to the gerrymandering that will occur after the next census. You can almost guarantee they will be moved into predominantly red districts and not into rich blue areas. Just my opinion

This isn’t a new idea.
Back in the late 70s, early 80s a lot of subdivisions were built with a low income apt. section at the entrance.
IIRC it was done because of some Jimmie Carter admin. mandate.

WE have several upscale subdivisions in Raleigh with a ghetto-like apt. complex at the entrance.

Y’all can come and live in my swamp. We get no services except the occasinal mosquito spray (like that works) and if we are real lucky, a shovelful of asphalt for the potholes.

I hear the Hamptons or Beverly Hills is too white. Santa Monica looks open. I bet if you try hard, you can even put some in Georgetown.

“Blockbusting” from the 50s and 60s was done by realtors. Now it’s being done by the government.

Our local FOX new station did a story on this last night and it was not particularly complimentary in it’s view towards this new assault on taxpayers. It actually mentioned the failures of the government in public housing and the mortgages banks gave to unqualified people so they could buy homes for which they ultimately would lose in an effort to force diversity.

You’re right.

It’s not race or color...

it’s how people act.

Blacks might be the only racial group in history that has to sue other ethnic groups to be allowed to live in their neighborhoods.

“Unfortunately, in too many of our hardest hit communities, no matter how hard a child or her parents work, the life chances of that child, even her lifespan, is determined by the zip code she grows up in. This is simply wrong,” he said.

It has nothing to do with the Zip code. It has everything to do with WHO IS IN that Zip code.

It’s a good topic for research and to write about - but TNYT lies/twists. Since they are not about truth, they would show it in a way to stir up the restless who don’t want to work their way up - they just want to move to it.
