James J. “Whitey” Bulger has been found guilty of racketeering, conspiracy and 11 murders in a split verdict, and his lawyers say he plans to appeal.

The indictment accused Bulger of the gangland murders of 19 men and women between 1973 and 1985, money laundering, extortion, drug distribution and illegal firearms possession.

He was convicted on two racketeering counts, 11 murders, 3 counts of conspiracy to commit murder, seven extortion counts, one drug count and six money laundering counts.

LOL.

Even with "getting Whitey", that (to be nuanced) colored guy H0lder is NOT going to be satisfied (until the whole of American resembles the compound at Waco).....

What’s the point of warehousing Whitey, bedding him, feeding him and giving him cable television.

Release him in D. C. with a mission.

Wasting talent is so wasteful.

I feel for the folks whose loved ones didn’t get justice today. A couple of really painful quotes in the story from family members.

What most people don’t know is that appeals are based purely on points of LAW, not “I don’t like the verdict.”

They are extremely technical and have to do with inclusion/exclusion of evidence, objections, jury instructions, etc.

The high-water mark for appeals is 15% that are ever heard and only about 10-15% of those are overturned (what judge will say another of his brothers screwed up?)

His life will run out long before a single appeal even sees the light of day.

I’m all in favor of keel-hauling followed by being drawn and quartered for certain “outstanding” individuals.

My aunt, who along with my Dad and their siblings, grew up in Southie (where Whitey was from) used to idolize Billy Bulger because of his education and erudition (among other things).Until the day she died I tried to convince her that they were both the worst kind of crooks.I failed miserably. To the day she died she thought Billy was God.

For non-Bostonians...Billy was Whitey's brother and was a real, real big deal here in Massachusetts politics (Rat politics,of course) for decades.

Cheer up Whitey! You’ll likely die in prison , but you still have a reserved seat in the Kennedy section of Hell

Nature abhors a vacuum. Since organized crime has been largely demolished, something had to fill the void.

Enter the Democratic Party.

I don’t know about you, but I feel better with the Mafia running the unions than the Democrats.

It's definitely better to have a 'rat like RFK chasing 'em.

(One level removed from political power ).

Supposedly he said he didn’t get a fair trial. But his attorney said Bulger was happy with the verdict.

I had to really laugh at this. The MSM whores were really talking this up .... they got Whitey. Who did they interview? Convicted murderers who walked after a few months in prison for testimony against Bulger. Well, how about the FBI agents? One was convicted and the rest served until retirement with promotions of course.
