In our unheroic age, victimhood has replaced valiant struggle.
In the globally connected and affluent world of the 21st century, we thankfully have evolved a long way from the elemental poverty, hunger, and ethnic, religious, and racial hatred that were mostly the norm of the world until the last century.
Yet who would know of such progress and the great sacrifices made to achieve it from the howls of our postmodern oppressed? In fact, the better life has become, the more victimized modern affluent Westerners seem to act.
Over ten women have come forward to charge Bob Filner, the current mayor of San Diego, with harassment the liberal bookend to the political return in New York of former representative Anthony Carlos Danger Weiner and former governor Eliot Client #9 Spitzer. Filner did not really deny that he has groped, grabbed, kissed, or verbally harassed lots of females; instead, he checked himself into some sort of sexual-therapy program. In the old days, Filner would have resigned in shame suffering the stigma accorded a pervert, and terrified that an angry boyfriend or husband might surface to settle up with fisticuffs. (snip)
Our entire society is experiencing the sort of cultural devolution associated with the further decline from modernism to postmodernism ... skilled modern artist like Picasso ... postmodern hack successors ... gave us crucifixes in urine bottles ...

It's way past time to put an end to Jesse & Al and all the wannabees seeking to follow in their footsteps.
VDH ping.
“Victimhood” carries with it the understanding that you are entitled to steal from others what you have not earned yourself. That is the whole reason to claim victimhood. To take what does not belong to you.
Further it is taken with malice against those who have done you no wrong.
If the black community wants to place blame. Place it squarely on those who proclaim single-parenthood the path to sainthood.
Nailed it! "A Rock, A River, A Tree" by Maya Angelou is not poetry but only deemed to be such due to white guilt.
It is just psychology to eliminate Christianity....Christian Ethics removal to destroy basic concepts of the Constitution-—of Individual Rights from God-—so that Collective Rights are the only ‘worldview’ in the children.
All TV/Public schools reinforce Marxist Ethics-—group think, collective group “work” to erase the idea of Individuality—so people are all dependent “thinkers” and cowards—because they are conditioned to be afraid of what others “think” when “others” are ignorant/stupid—because of “public” education.
In other words-—Human Beings will be used as a “Means to an End”-—unacceptable in a “Justice” system (Virtue System) based in Christianity. It will become Marxist/Satanist Ethics-—where human beings can be used as a “Means” for the Common Good-—or for lust/slavery or whatever.
“Victimhood” is ignorance/stupidity in not understanding Truth (God). It is using psychology to justify no character-—no morality.
Virtue is learned. It is behavior that is chosen-—but habituation is essential to Virtue and schools/TV beat it out of children. Actually remove morality from children-—and normalizes evil behaviors ( like victimhood—not being responsible for your own actions). Virtue was the target of Cultural Marxism to destroy Western Civilization in the 30’s. It was Gramsci/Adorno/Lukacs and crew (Marcuse) who destroyed our institutions—particularly schools and Hollywood with infiltration and control of ideas.
Agree
That also tied to VDH's theme here. If you don't own your failure, it is always 'some other(s)'s fault out of your control', then this is inevitable what we have come to.
It is very logical, if you are absolutely not at fault, then where does a person feel even any shame (or responsibility) remotely?
The guy recently at trial for enslaving three women for ten years, 'I am not a monster. I am sick.' In other words, the society in general failed him, and he's the suffering victim.
