President Barack Obama has found a way to cater to his obsession with pre-K programs while the rest of his education agenda stalls: Skip Congress and spend the money anyway.
Hundreds of millions of dollars in discretionary funding for early learning are funneling into states although Congress hasnt seriously considered paying for President Barack Obamas universal preschool proposal. Race to the Top early learning awards and Affordable Care Act money are helping states carry out their pre-K and early childcare plans. Education Secretary Arne Duncan is traveling the country to deliver what amounts to an early childhood stump speech, and the administration just hired a new leader for its Office of Early Learning.

Early ed is just stupid. It’s a babysitting program for moms that want to get rid of their kids all day.
How long until Congress is dissolved?
Looks like that’s pretty much happened already.
” How long until Congress is dissolved?”
You missed it. Jan. 2009.
It will unionize a big chunk of the daycare industry.
Good point.
Obama’s Race to the Bottom- now with added Communist Core!
Wonderful - The Child Czar!
Even if these idiots DON’T want to simply grab all children as much and long as they can to control them, “pre-school” does NOT improve learning!
All these damn fools for 25 years+ have obsessed on all these theories and methods and approaches and it hasn’t done a damn thing. Most of our children are hocked off to pre-school already, for 30 years, and millenials are NOT smarter or more knowledgeable than earlier generations (and don’t be fooled by “using a computer” - that is meaningless).
It’s all total BS.
” The Child Czar! “
Scary thought.
Obama will likely name one next week.
Agreed. Another factor I observed is that in many of these Head Start classes, someone did an excellent job choosing materials to supply them. The unexpected consequence is that they are over stimulating, and (JMHO) might be turning out kids who expect too much to be handed to them.
A good program might be for parents and pre-schoolers together to come in for two-hour sessions of parent-child interactions to stimulate learning, maybe a few times a week. Beyond that, let the parents do the parenting....including feeding their own kids. The kids get free breakfast and lunch! Letting the parent drop off the kid for five or so hours and have that time on their hands is enabling bad behavior and poor parenting.
They had an article on this worrying how four year olds will countinue to be exposed to art and music. GAG
When is the average American going to WAKE AND REALIZE THEY HAVE A MARXIST MONSTER IN THE WHITE HOUSE WITH AN ADMINISTRATION OF COMMUNISTS AROUND HIM!!!?????
WHEN???
That’s what you get for reading Parade Magazine.
Have not looked at one since Jim Brady died and quit writing his column telling you what happened to celebrities you thought had died twenty years earlier.
Have not subscribed to a dead tree newspaper for much longer than that.
If public "educators" take over the job of introducing small children to the world around them--as opposed to what parents have always taken care of--those children will be less inclined to adhere to their family values; far less likely to oppose the mandates of an ever more encroaching Governmental power.
This fits in nicely with the HUD proposal to use Government to first catalog who is in each neighborhood, and then artificially re engineer each neighborhood, by artificially changing the demographic composition. Because our media have become lickspitles, in many cases, for the Administration, almost no one has observed that this attack on ethnic neighborhoods, is what Stalin used in the Ukraine & Baltic States, to suppress the ability of the people to resist Communist domination. If your new neighbors had little in common with you, you could not trust them in plans to resist the Communist tyranny.
The attacks on service men who dare to read the Bible on military posts in uniform; the demand for atheist "Chaplains," and the punishment of service men who dare to urge others in matters of Faith, is another example of a effort to destroy all the pillars of a free society.
Or one could discuss the absurdity of putting everyone's private health records under the control of the IRS!
This is not paranoia. These bastards are not missing any opportunity to destroy our heritage, by making us the most tightly controlled people in human history.

The average American IS a Marxist, but too low-information to realize it.
Not sure about *the average* American, but MANY are. And, you're right, they're too *lowinfo* to know. Sad days.
